Pleasant, nostalgic feel
Liked: Friendly staff, peaceful view of the river, could hear and see train at night. Was given a room with a great view. I like the sound of trains. The whole feel of the place brought me back 35 years to my childhood. Resturant right next door as well as a buffet style restaurant down rhe road.
Disliked: The place is dated, which didn't bother me but some may not like. Bathroom could have been cleaner. There were clumps of dirt on floor as though someone had walked in in work boot and it hadn't been swept up. Otherwise appeared clean

Really nice place to stay...
Liked: Lovely gentleman owner was very accommodating. Room had lovely view and was quiet. Everything worked and was conveniently positioned. I extended my stay because I liked it so much.
Disliked: All good.

Pleasant
Liked: The view of The Mississippi. The bed was ok as were the pillows. The towels need bleach and softener for they were grayish. Very quiet and borders Illinois.
Disliked: Without knocking, nor announcing themselves this morning 8/16, the door opened and was supposedly cleaning crew. It was 8:20am and checkout is at 11am. I scared them as much as they scared me. I attempted talking with the front desk prior to writing, but she was so insincere I am forewarning others. The manager said they were cleaning 1st motel and left for upper motel to clean at 9:30, but by 9:30 I was almost in Iowa.Very bothersome someone entering the room with no notification. Won't returnThere's a broken chain for secondary safety.View is spectacular...room not so much
