Disappointing

Liked: Breakfast
Disliked: Rooms were tired , old and spartan. Looked like something from 1940. Needs a total makeover. Ratings on booking.com misleading from previous guests in general. .I used the ratings to reserve and wished I had not.

Liked: Great location, close to river and town and pretty quiet. Staff excellent and cheery, breakfast perfect, parking secure.

Disliked: Outside of the hotel's control of course, but the major roadworks would make me think twice about a return stay.

Just what we hoped it...

Liked: It was great to have water with the tea at breakfast and a teapot in the room.Also, fresh milk was available in tgecroom

Great place, great staff, great...

Liked: Good location near the station and right on the river so easy access to those charming riverside footpaths. Friendly staff. Room spotlessly clean with a pleasingly large bathroom. Breakfast was excellent also.
Disliked: We were on the top floor in the heat wave, so it was hot, but not much can be done I think. There was a fan, which brought some relief!
