A very enjoyable stay

Disliked: Heating was full on when we arrived - room was stifflingly hotAlso same in bathroomBoth above must be resulting in a waste of costly energy. This could be handled much betterMost disappointing the bedside lighting. No good for reading through the night, which we both require to do.

Liked: Beautiful location. Stunning views. Lovely bathroom with great shower.
Disliked: No wardrobe, no drawers in very small room. OK for one or two night stop but not a week!

Pleasant

Liked: It's in a good location with fabulous views and quirky layout.
Disliked: Some trips just don't work out as planned and this was one, essentially I had a choice between a room with no cold running water in the hand basin and one with no means of controlling the temperature in the bath / shower. However the staff were unfailingly polite and did their best. Some rooms' decor is a little tired and in both rooms I tried there were very creaky floorboards.

Liked: Great location especially if travelling to the racecourse. Staff were all lovely. I found it to be quiet and comfortable. I was quite happy to sit on my own in the restaurant for dinner, the view from there was great on a sunny evening.
Disliked: Just niggly little things really, there was no socket close enough to the mirror to comfortably dry my hair and the lighting wasn't really bright enough for make up so had to stand by the window. The room could do with a bit of a paint refresh but was comfortable and quiet so perfectly fine for a work trip.
