The Spotlight on Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa

Historic Elegance Meets Music Weekend Comfort

Nestled in 29 acres of private grounds, Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa is a charming 19th-century manor turned boutique hotel. Located just 2.5 miles from Chesterfield town centre and train station, it's an ideal base for concert-goers heading to shows in Chesterfield or even nearby Sheffield. With easy M1 access, free parking, and serene surroundings, this hotel combines countryside calm with convenience.
Rooms are tastefully decorated and include flat-screen TVs, hospitality trays, and toiletries. Garden Wing rooms offer free Wi-Fi and are just a short tree-lined stroll from the main reception.
Looking to unwind before or after the show? Don’t miss the Garden Secret Spa – Derbyshire’s first 5-bubble-rated spa – where hotel guests enjoy discounted access (advance booking required).

Why Concert-goers love it

Despite its tranquil countryside setting, Ringwood Hall is conveniently close to Chesterfield’s music venues and train station, making it easy to catch a show without the city noise. With free parking and proximity to public transport, late-night returns are stress-free. While check-in is from 3:00 PM, the peaceful atmosphere and spa make early arrivals or late check-outs well worth the ask.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking to pair a show with a spa weekend
- Solo travelers wanting a scenic, quiet stay before or after a gig
- Couples planning a romantic concert getaway
- Fans seeking a quiet, relaxing recovery space
- Budget-conscious music lovers who want value with style

Food and Drink Options

The hotel’s on-site restaurant serves plenty of classic dishes and afternoon teas, though late-night dining is limited. While there isn’t 24-hour room service, the bar and restaurant offer hearty meals and drinks during regular hours. Breakfast is available – perfect after a late night out. And with Chesterfield town centre just a short drive away, additional dining options are close by.

Nightlife Options

While Ringwood Hall itself offers a more serene vibe, it’s a perfect pre-game or post-show retreat. Chesterfield’s pubs and bars are just a taxi ride away, or sip something local at the hotel bar before winding down in the spa or garden areas.

What People Say

Guests love the hotel’s peaceful vibe, beautiful grounds, and the luxurious spa facilities. Many highlight the friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and easy access to both Chesterfield and the Peak District. Reviewers often mention how the hotel offers great value, especially with spa discounts included.

Areas for Improvement

While the hotel is beautifully historic, some guests note that certain rooms could use a refresh. The Garden Wing rooms are a short walk from reception, which might be less ideal in rainy weather. Also, those looking for a buzzing nightlife scene on-site should plan to venture into town.

The Bottom Line

A peaceful, stylish base with spa perks and countryside charm – perfect for concert-goers who want to relax before or recover after the show.

Pleasant - 3.0 out of 5

Pleasant

Liked: Lovely grounds and historic building.
Disliked: It was a very hot day and the windows did not open in our room to allow ventilation. We were provided with a fan but this just pushed warm air around the room. I had to leave the door popped open for a time to hope it would let some of the heat out. The room had old spill marks and stains all over as well. Which I wouldn't expect from a 4* hotel.

Lovely hotel with great staff...

Liked: The room was very comfortable and the staff were all very friendly
Disliked: The breakfast cooks couldn't keep up with the food being eaten. The wine glasses in the bar could be do to be a bit more fancy, they were the same glasses used for juice at breakfast time.
