The Spotlight on Riding Farm

Peaceful Countryside Comfort Just Minutes from the Music

Riding Farm is a charming 19th-century farmhouse offering a tranquil 4-star countryside escape just a short drive from Newcastle, Gateshead, and Sunderland. Set among scenic fields and friendly wildlife, this converted farmhouse blends rustic charm with modern comfort. With easy access to the A1(M), it’s a relaxing base for music lovers who want to enjoy a concert-packed weekend without sacrificing sleep or scenery.

Why Concert-goers love it

This peaceful farmhouse stay is just a 7-minute drive from the A1(M), making it a great location for reaching top music venues across Newcastle, Gateshead, and Durham. After a night of live music, return to the quiet countryside for a restful sleep—no city noise here. Free parking makes late-night returns easy, and the warm, homely vibe is ideal for unwinding post-show.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a cozy, shared base before hitting a concert
  • Solo travelers chasing their favorite band with a side of countryside relaxation
  • Couples on a concert-and-countryside weekend getaway
  • Fans needing a quiet space to recharge after a loud night out
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who want great service without city-center prices

Food and Drink Options

While there's no on-site restaurant for dinner, Riding Farm shines in the breakfast department. Expect a hearty, farmhouse-cooked breakfast with plenty of options to help you recover from a late night. Several local pubs and restaurants are nearby for evening meals, and staff are happy to recommend their favorites.

Nightlife Options

You won’t find on-site live music or bars here—it’s all about relaxation. But if you're looking to keep the night going, Newcastle’s nightlife is just a short drive away. From buzzing bars to live music clubs, you’ll have your pick before heading back to the calm of the countryside.

What People Say

Guests love the peaceful setting, friendly hosts, and spotlessly clean rooms. Many highlight the generous breakfast and the convenience of being close to both rural walking trails and major cities. It's often described as a "hidden gem" that combines comfort with character.

Areas for Improvement

Check-in is a bit later than average at 16:30, and check-out is on the early side at 09:30—so plan accordingly if you’re out late at a show. Also, the rural location means a car is essential for getting to and from concerts.

The Bottom Line

Riding Farm is perfect for concert-goers who want a peaceful, scenic escape just a short drive from the region’s top music venues.
