Fair , housekeeping need to...
Liked: Location , some of the staff were very friendly.
Disliked: I had issue with my personal towels the collected them with the hotel towels( one is baby towel with hoodie other was white big towel with tag on the side) . I asked the same day as soon as i came back to the room to look for my towels , the housekeeping was not available. The second day no body came to clean and i reminded them about the cleaning and my towels around 1 pm also no response. Last day when I was checking out i asked about the towels they told me they didn’t find it .

Liked: Hotel is perfectly located close to the Edinburgh University in the city centre. Rooms are spacious and include kitchen annex that is very well equipped. Bed was very compfortable. Staff members were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The network of Marriott Hotels is renown of high standards and quality. Yet, the management of the hotel (please do not confuse with the staff) decided to make savings on catering at the expense of the guests. Namely, there was a widespread renovation of the ground floor, that including painting, plastering, etc. Apart from the smell of paint, lound noises of drills, etc. there was only very limited number of tables and guests were requested to to take food upstairs (i.e. to their rooms). There was also a contant shortage of cutlery (forks, spoons, etc.) and the number of staff members dedicated to breakfast services was very limited. The choice of food was very limited and often replacements (e.g scrambled eggs, cheese) did not arrive on time and in the continuous fashion. To be honest, avarage breakfast in a two-star hotel in Poland would beat available food quality during my stay by several lengths. In earlier this spring I spent couple of days in the Virgin Hotel in Edinburgh, where the food was fabulous, so I was surprise that Marriott was so below this standard. In summary, I appreciate that hotel management may be forced to do make necessary renovations at SOME POINT, yet in such circumstances they should at least:1. Inform the guests about these inconveniences prior to arrival by phone or mail (there is always a poosiblity to change the hotel);2. Offer discount for substandard breakfast services and/or book proper catering, e.g. in some building or cafe close to the hotel, where adequate standards can be provide.

Liked: The staff was very helpful. The rooms were very comfortable. The front desk answered every question we had, booked taxis for us, and in general took excellent care of us. Breakfast was included and was quite a good assortment even though there was some remodeling that made it necessary to bring food back to your room. I would stay here again.
