Another great Residence Inn stay.
Liked: The location was great - right near the bridge to the peninsula with Charleston's historic downtown and to roads leading south to Folly Beach. The one bedroom unit with kitchen was spacious, clean, well appointed and comfortable. Fresh towels were delivered each day by housekeeping. Parking at the on-site lot was free and convenient. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. We did not use the free breakfast buffet but it looked good.
Disliked: The only negative was that outside lighting for the building included a high intensity floodlight planted in the garden directly outside our bedroom window, which prevented the room from being fully darkened at night even with the shades tightly drawn.

Traveling alone and now aware...
Liked: I chose this hotel because it had a balcony, kitchen, and free parking. The balcony turned out to be completely private, large, covered, and furnished with two comfortable, outdoor chairs and cocktail table--outstanding. The kitchen was also wonderful: full-size frig with ice-maker, GE built-in microwave (at eye-level), a two-burner, glass cook-top, large sink with disposal, and dishwasher. Plenty of counter- and cabinet-space, china, cutlery, glasses, pots/pans, dish-detergent, dishwasher soap, paper towels, dish-rags. The main/living area included a good-sized desk with comfortable desk-chair AND a counter-height dining table with two modern counter-height, low-backed stools; bureau, huge flat TV, sofa-bed with snack table. Bedroom portion included two nightstands with lamps. Plenty of electrical outlets. Basic internet free and instantly available.
Disliked: Bathroom (without fan! and situated about 8 feet from bed) and its annex (including clothes closet with iron & board and sink cabinet & mirror) were extremely small--fine for a one-person stay but painful for two. Glass door to balcony was secure but difficult to open & close until it had been used often. Breakfast, which had been touted on various websites, was not quite as good as described. Something odd about the eggs whether scrambled or as part of English-muffin sandwiches--powdered? yolkless? The rest seemed okay but unworthy of rave-reviews. However, the breakfast-room itself was delightful--roomy, sunny, nicely furnished, poolside.

Superb
Liked: Breakfast was good. I'm not really a breakfast food person so I'm not a good judge but I did enjoy the selection. There was a lady tending the buffet, I believe her name was Margaret. She was very friendly and helpful when we asked for suggestions on tourism.
