Nice.

Liked: Nice one bedroom.
Disliked: Iron was filthy and almost ruined my new shirt with black gunk. Employee was excellent in handling it and brought a brand new iron.

Love the overall business model...

Liked: We love the entire business model of residence Inn, as small apartments rather than just hotel rooms.
Disliked: Our room stunk of animals. The odor was very prevalent. We could not get rid of it. We thought a pet friendly hotel meant that there were only a block of rooms that pets were allowed to be in. Although we love the place and the staff and everything about it we will not stay there again Only because of the animal smell in our room. Don’t be offended. I love the idea of pet friendly hotels, but I would recommend blocking certain rooms for non-occupancy or making the renters of the room aware of the possible smell.

Lack of a functioning microwave...

Liked: Location. Quiet. Easy access in and out.
Disliked: Microwave was not functioning. Dishwasher door does not open all of the way unless you open the refrigerator door first. After getting it open, I noticed a strip of metal and plastic was bent/ missing on the right side which impeded the lower rack from being rolled out. The dishwasher was also full of wet dishes and things when I arrived and the top of the fridge was filthy (I am tall and can see it when perhaps others cannot). You ran out of coffee cups in the breakfast area and I couldn't find anyone to see if we could get those replenished. So I gave up and went back to my room.

Disliked: I booked specifically for the pool so my grandkids and I could enjoy the pool. We were told the maintenance on the pool would not be completed until Monday, 3 days later. We were told to go to another hotel and use their pool. We didn’t even have a room reservation there! I asked to be comped at least one night for this issue. On checkout I reminded them I wanted comped one night of my 2 night stay due to no pool. The clerk said it was open…on checkout! No one let us know when it did open and they knew we wanted to swim. No communication at all. Still awaiting my email to be comped one night as I travel to Cedar Rapids to visit family often. Would stay again if this issue was resolved.
