Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Franklin

We stayed one night to attend an event - had a wonderful time. We were very pleased that the check in was quick and easy - they were able to assist us with directions. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable.

Liked: Very clean; pleasant staff; great breakfast.
Disliked: Leave trash bin out of cabinet.

Breakfast Buffet

Liked: Mostly excellent breakfast buffet. On the weekend however the buffet was oversubscribed. Several items were not refilled in a timely fashion and they ran out of plates.

Disappointing

Liked: room was spacious and comfortable bedding.
Disliked: As soon as we checked in, our tv in the living room did not work; called front desk; they sent someone up to fix; did not. We had no toilet paper; 1/2 box of tissues; A/C unit in closet was making a loud vibration noise/racket on the door which was deadbolted shut; to be able to sleep we had to prop door with a ton of cardboard we found to keeping it from vibrating. No one checked on us about the tv; mentioned it on Saturday again to front desk, they said maintenance was not there today, but will stop by to fix it tomorrow (Sunday) I said forget it, we are checking out tomorrow. Another reason we chose your property was due to the listing saying it had a restaurant and bar. Restaurant was only breakfast buffets; bar was closed Friday night arrival due to bartender not coming in. (Doesn't any employees cross train?) so we had to drive off site. Saturday night it was suppose to be open till 10 pm. We went to have night cap and it was empty. Front desk said it was closed. There were just four or five people just there when we got back from dinner. SO we said forget it, and went outside and in comes the bartender from somewhere and says I'm all done I'm clocking out now!! So she went somewhere and came back in to clock out? I am an assistant manager of a large NH restaurant, inn & spa. This place was a disgrace compared to what we have here. Staff would have been fired for actions and reactions. Very disappointed; Next time we will go back to the Red Roof in which is much better service wise, price wise and hospitality wise.

AVERAGE PLACE NOTHING SPECIAL

Liked: EGGS WERE STONE COLD AT BREAKFAST AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE A MICROWAVE TO HEAT THEM UP. BAR WAS CLOSED WHEN WE STAYED THERE - ONLY OPENED THREE DAYS A WEEK. THERE WAS A STRONG CHEMICAL SMELL IN THE ROOM THAT THE RECEPTIONIST SAID WAS NORMAL. WE HAD TO OPEN THE WINDOWS. WE ORDERED A MURPHY BED AND THEY JUST DROPPED IT OFF AT THE ROOM DIDN'T SET IT UP OR MAKE IT. SMOKING SECTION WAS AT THE ENTRANCE OF THE MOTEL - IT STUNK OUT THERE!
Disliked: STAFF WAS FRIENDLY. ROOM WAS OKAY SIZE WISE BUT THE BATHTUB WAS EXTREMELY DATED (BORDERLINE GROSS)AND THERE WAS NO WASTEBASKET IN THE VANITY AREA? HAD TO USE THE ONE IN THE KITCHENETTE. I WAS AN EXTREMELY AVERAGE PLACE

Relaxing and close to everything

Liked: Staff friendly and helpful. Common areas very clean
Disliked: Had some trouble figuring out tv but that seems a common occurrence for me

Liked: The room was large. Easy to access on the first floor. The refrigerator worked well.
Disliked: The room was old and completely outdated. With the exception of the refrigerator all other appliances were old. The dishwasher was not working properly. And the oven was beyond dirty. The bath was disgusting, full of rust.
