Liked: The hotel is very modern and clean. The staff is great. The beds are comfortable and the room was spacious. The pool area was awesome.
Disliked: No parking option other than valet and that is $33 per day - we were not aware of this ahead of time. Also the hotel is near John Wayne Airport - technically in Newport but nowhere near beach. Felt more like Irvine. Located in a business district.

Liked: Friendly, attentive, helpful staff - from the door, to the front desk, bar, maids....all of them!

Great hotel, but expensive valet...
Liked: This is a really nice hotel. Newly updated, luxurious, clean, well designed rooms and interior spaces, delicious organic food for breakfast and dinner. Staff is well trained and polite.
Disliked: Parking is valet only and costs $33 a night. You don?t have any other option despite the wide open streets around there which are all under ?No parking? regulation for some weird reason. It?s practicaly a ghost town around the hotel, so whatever the City of Newport Beach is thinking makes no sense. And the hotel takes full advantage of that. Think of parking as additional 10-20% tax on your room rate. It adds up.
