Renaissance by Marriott Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center

I enjoyed my stay at Renaissance Montgomery. The room was great and the staff went out of their way to be helpful.

Liked: Excellent service by staff.
Disliked: Nothing.

My husband and I were there (Montgomery Performing Arts Centre) to see the Lewis Black performance and we had a wonderful experience throughout our stay - the staff was wonderful, helpful and very polite. I will be checking in to see who will be performing from time to time and we will definitely be staying at the Renaissance Hotel in Montgomery.

Amalfi Coast price, Alabama River...

Liked: Went for a school trip. Great venue for the schools to have their function. Clean, well kept, attentive staff.
Disliked: Too pricey for my tastes.

Renaissance Hotel could provide customer...

Liked: Hotel was ok but there were no microwave or any information on whether or not there will be complimentary breakfast. Freight didn't work. Hotel of its magnitude should havecrwal coffee cups in the room. More than 2 bottles of water. Ridiculous!!

Liked: Breakfast was nice that I could select what I wanted. having a full bathtub that was very clean was wonderful. Room left something to be desired, see below
Disliked: There was no make up mirror to help me to put on make up or a light for that purpose, no light in the closet so I could see if I dropped something on the floor. The luggage rack could only go in the closet as there was a small hall, but it didn't fit easily so it was hard to use. The light switches themselves were obtuse and hard to understand how they worked. When I came into the room it was hard to find and turn on the lights in the dark. The phone was unplugged, not charged so didn't work. there was no way to easily find where the restaurant was. I guess it was on the TV, but a menu or piece of paper would have been nice. Great to go to all the technology but sometimes it is just too much. Make things simple to use, please. Not having a make up mirror is a definite minus for a woman.

If you want to feel...

Liked: Clean and well equipped. However, there was a strong smell of bleach.
Disliked: Staff were dismissive and miserable and when they were nice it was a strain for them.

Disliked: Hard to turn some lamps off -hard to unplug. No coffee available in lobby area in morning . No water dispenservin lobby or anywhere else. Staff unaware that the hot tub was being repaired and thus not availableI have stayed at many marriott hotels and this one did not measure up to the others
