A gem of a hotel; prime location to get to many attractions; staff very professional; Bellman was courteous and very helpful - gave us a history of the Hotel which was wonderful; cozy lounge/restaurant for drinks; extremely accommodating with rainy day check out. We will be back and will highly recommend the Renaissance 57 to friends, family and business associates.

Liked: Welcoming staff; concierge; bedding; ambiance; location.
Disliked: Lunch service was very poor in the in-house restaurant - food very average; ordered coffee which was not available; the restaurant was not particularly crowded; staff did not appear to be confident or clear on who was to take care of our table; cob salad had almost zero lettuce.

Good Stay in Manhattan

Liked: Great location. Friendly, accommodating staff. Comfortable bed. Good wifi.
Disliked: Bathroom sink too shallow - slow drainage.

Good rooms but you can...

Liked: Location was good. Room was spacious. Early check in was appreciated.
Disliked: -When we were looking for a hotel we put on the filter with breakfast included, however when we arrived it was explained that the breakfast was just muffins and croissants. During none of our morning was actually anything available as every morning everything was empty although we tried twice at the same morning. It was always empty. -When you request a deposit due to damage you should be checking with the guest on the check out for any damages and for any extra charge. You can’t blame people for things that have happened prior or after us. On our check out, we were refused to be in the room during the check and we had to leave without knowing if we would be refunded our 450$!!!! We were refunded the money 4-5 days later. In another hotel in NY the deposit was refunded on spot, so it was not a delay from our bank.

Look elsewhere until this hotel...

Liked: Convenience of the location is the biggest plus for this hotel. The rooms are a decent size. The gym is adequate.Housekeeping seems to be doing their best to keep the aging rooms clean, but looks like it's a losing battle.
Disliked: I've been staying at this hotel for a few years and I feel like it's gone visibly downhill in that time. The rooms seem tired: frayed carpet in transition to bathroom, bathroom fixtures are finicky, both tub and sink didn't drain properly. The continental breakfast is a bit of a disaster - there were 2 pastries left when I arrived at 8AM and the attendant didn't seem like she had plans to replenish anytime soon. There's just a tiny coffee station where only one person can get a cup at a time. The elevators now have duct tape on the card readers and are quite banged up inside.To top it all off, I was given a room that was right by the elevators, so needless to say it was quite noisy overnight in addition to all other issues.
