Hotel 57

A gem of a hotel; prime location to get to many attractions; staff very professional; Bellman was courteous and very helpful - gave us a history of the Hotel which was wonderful; cozy lounge/restaurant for drinks; extremely accommodating with rainy day check out. We will be back and will highly recommend the Renaissance 57 to friends, family and business associates.

Liked: Welcoming staff; concierge; bedding; ambiance; location.
Disliked: Lunch service was very poor in the in-house restaurant - food very average; ordered coffee which was not available; the restaurant was not particularly crowded; staff did not appear to be confident or clear on who was to take care of our table; cob salad had almost zero lettuce.

Comfortable but....

Liked: Clean, comfortable hotel with a decent gym. There are water machines on a couple of floors and an ice machine. I stayed in a queen room and was a good size.
Disliked: Incredibly unprofessional staff. There was a mistake with my booking and on the 2nd night of my stay at 10pm and aggressive woman burst in my room saying I don't belong there and forced me to come down to the reception. Turns out the person who checked me in made a mistake, and mistakes can happen, but the way they handled the situation was incredibly rude and unprofessional.Then on the day of my checkout the cleaning lady came and said that I wasn't in the system and the room should have been empty.

Great value for money in...

Liked: The hotel is at an amazing location, super easy to get around, you can just walk to many of the sights. We really like the size of the bathroom and that there was a bathtub, the bed was comfy. It is a great value for money in New York.
Disliked: The bed was a almost too small for 2 person but was okay for us. There were periods when the water did not get as warm as we would have liked in the shower, other times it was fine.The AC is pretty loud, so we turned it off- the staff put it back on every day, which did heat up the room too much. Thats was a tad annoying. - however this is just preferrance:) As others write sometimes you have to wait for the elevator as there is only 2 working. However none of these affected our stay and we had a great time!

Disliked: The room smell musty. Everything looked dated and the TV has no cable... What New York City hotel doesn't have cable? I've stayed in a lot of hotels in New York City this by far was the worst

Liked: The cleaning crew they definitely need a raise
Disliked: The furniture has lots of wear and tears made me feel like I was rob for the amount of money I spent there and there no parking
