Our stay was fine..excellent entertainment...
Liked: comfortable and well appointed room
Disliked: they had no record of our reservation upon our trying to register... finally said we could have a room...my confirmation info was left at home..therefor ..I did not have it. Painful first encounter with the hotel. Also hard to understand the the accents of front desk workers.

Great location, but pretty overpriced...
Liked: Comfortable bed, clean room upon arrival. Despite not having ceiling lights in the room, the 3 lamp shades were very bright and sufficient to light up the room after sunset. Location is great for attending a conference at the nearby conference centre while not being too far away from everything else as downtown is pretty walkable from the hotel. As we had a late flight out of Boston, the hotel was able to store our luggages and provide us with access to the gym to freshen up and shower before we headed to the airport. It was much appreciated.
Disliked: Amenities were a real pain. I get that hotels are moving towards being more environmental friendly, but it was quite frustrating to have to keep calling front desk to get certain things sent up. Examples of amenities not placed in the room upon check-in - toothbrush, toothpaste, sanitary pad disposal bag, shaver, comb, cotton bud, bedroom slippers (which we were later told were out of stock - I honestly would've expected a 4-star hotel to at the very least, made an exception to purchase unbranded bedroom slippers to be placed in the rooms as a stand-in since we're told that it's been months since their inventory ran out of slippers). Not sure if this amenities upon request is a practice across the Marriott group or just at Renaissance Boston specifically, but it's really quite inconvenient having to wait 20-30 minutes each time when we call to request for things as we gradually realise they aren't in the room when we need it. The only amenities placed in the room upon check-in were shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bar soap. There is no kettle in the room, only a coffee maker - which, if you use to boil hot water, would taste like infused coffee. We managed to eventually get one from housekeeping, but would've been nice to have it in the room from the get-go as most 3-star hotels and above would have.
