Regatta Inn - Adults Only, Folly Beach

This was a nice place...

Liked: The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Breakfast and happy hour were very nice and the views were amazing. It was so quiet and peaceful. The fireplace in our room was a nice touch.
Disliked: After sunset, our room was very dark. It could use more lighting. Not having a vanity in the bathroom made it difficult to get ready and our toilet had a dirty ring around the bowl.

Nice break from the work...

Liked: Was there for a quick trip to honor my Mother in law who passed last July. Did not get to take advantage of all that was offered. The inn is cute, and has so much more to offer than I was able to do in one nights stay

Liked: We enjoyed being on the water. The sunset views were beautiful!The room was comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was nice.
Disliked: This is a complaint mostly for Booking.com. I was unaware that Booking.com booked me in 2 separate rooms which I could have done myself and saved money. No one told me when I checked in either so we were miles away when I received a call that my new room was ready. The staff were very accomodating to me, however Booking.com should have informed me that my reservation included a room change.

Disliked: Regatta website states that if u book directly, they will match a lower price and give an additional 5 % . Also if you booked a room again you would be given a 10 percent discount for returning. I booked direct by Hotel staff and was told they could not give me the lower price that was offered by Booking.com because they could not find it. Yet it was clearly showing on their website. Then I was charged $100.00 more booking directly with them. At check out, we made our concerns known, and it was written down by staff, and we were told they would get back with us. They never did . We decided to try another night as we enjoyed the location and wanted to give them a second chance . We used Booking.com this time. We saved $100.00. We booked an ocean room confirmed by Booking and Regatta. We were given the wrong room, which was a garden view over the parking lot..We found out at check out that the room had been available by their staff. We made our concerns again, and it was written down by staff, and we were told they would get back with us. No one did.. Both different rooms we stayed in had huge wrinkles in the carpet, which needs replacing. Regatta doesn't respond to their customers and doesn't honor any of their discounts . We never received the 10 percent ither that we asked for as a returning guest. you booked a room again you would be given a 10 percent discount for returning.
