Hotel had potential but family...
Liked: A beautiful building. This hotel has so much potential. The breakfast was lovely with a good selection.
Disliked: Our family room was so warm we had to move, the staff were very accommodating with this and got us conjoined rooms. Both rooms were grubby and in bad need of refurbishment. The hotel was also majorly under staffed. One person working behind the bar who also was taking the food orders.

The stay was ok, if...
Liked: Was very welcoming and the exterior was very picturesque
Disliked: We asked for a fan at around 18:30 and at 22:15 there was a knock at our door with someone arriving with a fan, almost 4 hours and knocking that late we felt was a little too close to the mark. There were also two power cuts during the morning, all amenities stopped working including the bathroom light when being used, nothing was said or mentioned when we booked out and had no means to complain or raise the issue.

As much as the staff...
Liked: The property and grounds were stunning
Disliked: The staff appeared inexperienced and over whelmed. Lots of issues with catering and quality of service. The spa looked very tired and broken.Infact, most things looked tired, I’m sure once it had been a fabulous place to stay.

Attention to detail
Liked: Some parts were lovely staff were friendly
Disliked: Small spa pool area snd noisy aqua class do unable to use pool attention to detail at meal times .ie food orders not as requested dirty windows sill for 2 day stay( dead wasps ) lot of dust in rooms .room 604 very bad musky smell i have emailed direct.gsve credit where due and feedback where necessary. As a former customer service mystery shopper I feel attention to detail is paramount especially when these spa breaks and fine diner are not cheap. The receptionist Abbey was amazing from late night telephone calls discount advice there is nothing this young lady doesn't know about making your experience hassle free she needs recognition.

Not worth the fees charged,...
Liked: Location was good. Gym was well equipped, staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Property is very tired, more 3* than a 4*. No pressure in showers, no air-con, breakfast area is pretty non de script and dull, ‘cocktail bar’ was a small bar area, i wouldnt call it a cocktail bar! Spa looked really tired also, bit like butlins tbh!
