The hotel from hell!

Liked: All I can really say is that the staff were nice.
Disliked: The whole experience was bad. The room was ok, the bed was clean but there was thick dust on top of the high cupboard (above the cleaners eyeline) and a very dirty, well used cotton bud too. The “free” breakfast consisted of a help yourself to bread etc. where loads of other hands had been rummaging about in the packaging contaminating the food. The crockery was stored in an alcove under the stairs so was covered in dust, hairs and other debris that falls when people use the stairs. My car, parked in a disabled bay and clearly displaying my blue badge, was repeatedly blocked in by staff and other patrons, meaning I had to go back in to find whoever owned the cars to move them. My sister, who had the room next to mine, was charged £45 for having her emotional support dog with her. The fire door at the top of the stairs was blocked open with the extinguisher and the 2 extinguishers in the lobby were hidden behind an armchair! I obviously complained to the hotel, in writing and received a snotty reply denying all faults and even saying that when they looked at the cctv they could clearly see one of us wiping underneath our nose with our hand then reaching into the bread bag! That proves my point about hygiene. And, I also have, in writing from the manager that the armchair hiding the fire extinguishers could be moved in the event of an emergency!!!They also said that because we stayed the whole three nights, we obviously weren’t that worried. We stayed because we were burying our mother and had nowhere else to go at such short notice!!!!They’re not bothered about security as all room keys proudly display the room number and the full address of the hotel so if you lose your key or someone steals it from you, they know exactly where to go to rob your belongings. My pictures, that I’ll post for you do not resemble in any way the pictures posted on theirs or booking.com’s website so prepare yourself to be disappointed. It’s horrendous.

Good value for money

Liked: I thought that this accommodation provided good value for money. Don't expect any frills, but the room was a good size and had everything that I needed for my one night stay. It was located at the rear of the property, so I had no traffic noise from the nearby road.Breakfast is available from 6am. It is self-serve and perfectly adequate - but don't look for anything fancy. Seating is a little limited, so this might be an issue if the place is busy.
