Good quality but basic room....

Liked: Excellent location for us. Friendly and helful cleaning staff. Found some factual issues detailed below.
Disliked: Redcliffe Motor Inn, April 2024. Good quality but basic room in an excellent location for us. Accommodation had friendly staff. However, we have some negative factual concerns we will describe below. In our considerable experience, normally very little point complaining at the time about these things. In the room, the internal security lock on the inside of the door was broken and not in working order.Both of the bedside lamps were not working and one did not even have a bulb inside.The air conditioning unit inside our room was noisy, too noisy to leave on overnight even, so the room was often a little warmer than it should have been.We endured three (3) nights of broken / bad quality sleep. We were in room 14. These are detailed below. First night, we were awakened around 0200 by nuisance noise from the male in the room next to us. We could hear constant talking which transpired to be a telephone call. He appeared to be staying there for extended nights. We had to go and speak to him. He also had the TV on for most of the night. Second night, again awakened around 0200 by an obviously drunken female outside in the street remonstrating to a person within that she had managed to lock herself out. We tactfully complained to management the next morning about this. On the evening of our third night, two Police Officers visited the property. We do not know why they were there, only that they had been called by the Hotel Manager. My husband went downstairs to check on the security of our vehicle and he could 100% smell cannabis had been used in that location recently. He overheard one of the managers discretely say he had called the police for reason unknown.Third night, in the middle of the night, we were awakened by a male resident in a light green / yellow type car with a broken missing rear bumper parked outside directly below our window on the first floor. He left the engine of the car running for several minutes. Character limiter.

Liked: It's a great place our experience over the two days was awesome Brian and his staff out did themselves nothing was a problem (if you want to know what to do in Redcliffe or get the best food just ask Brian) Joy and myself will definitely be returning. Thanks again for a great weekend mate.
