Need and cheap; clean room with very friendly staff; close to the beach. Rodeway Inn is the place to go; I'm a huge, nice, 5 star resort guy but they met my liking by being friendly and having very clean rooms.

I was a little leery after reading the reviews for this hotel, but had booked based on price anyway. I had a friend stay somewhere that cost twice as much, and yes it was newer and cleaner, but didn't have a kitchen or the space that we did. Nice hot shower water, mostly friendly staff, lots of room. Two things we found weird were that the staff called to tell us our parking pass wasn't in our car - we checked around the car, then finally went to purchase a 2nd one for the $50 fee and they said "well, we found it earlier and here it is..." Not sure why they didn't say that in the first place. Another strange thing was that one day when we came back, we saw we had one bed had been made and the other was left unmade. We didn't mind but it was just odd. All in all, we will definitely stay here again if the rates stay the same. Just bring some Clorox wipes.

Disliked: Out of date, a little dirty.

Liked: The room was very spacious and clean. The parking policy is perfect.
Disliked: Breakfast ends at 9am, which is hard when you are on vacations. Common areas are not super clean.

Liked: The front staff was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast had plenty to choose from. The location of the hotel is steps away from the beach and boardwalk. I liked that the hotel room had wall dispensers for body wash, shampoo, and hand washing.
Disliked: When I asked for housekeeping services the next day, they never showed up at all. The lounge chairs in the pool area were hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom was small and inconvenient. I paid for a partial beach view, I barely saw any of the beach; it should have been a city view.

Comfy Room but with a...

Liked: The room was mostly clean. The check in and check out processes were easy and quick. The beds were mostly comfortable.
Disliked: Bad advertising. We paid for a partial ocean view which ended up being about 2 inches of ocean you could see from our room. The rest of the view is blocked by other hotels and the parking garage. Definitely would not have paid extra if I knew that's all I was going to see. The dead bolt on the entry door would not lock, which was very unsafe. The parking garage is confusing with very narrow passage ways and parking spaces and no clear direction about which ways to go in and out. Some deeper cleaning was needed (headboards needed to be wiped down and balcony needed to be swept, etc.)
