Need and cheap; clean room with very friendly staff; close to the beach. Rodeway Inn is the place to go; I'm a huge, nice, 5 star resort guy but they met my liking by being friendly and having very clean rooms.

I was a little leery after reading the reviews for this hotel, but had booked based on price anyway. I had a friend stay somewhere that cost twice as much, and yes it was newer and cleaner, but didn't have a kitchen or the space that we did. Nice hot shower water, mostly friendly staff, lots of room. Two things we found weird were that the staff called to tell us our parking pass wasn't in our car - we checked around the car, then finally went to purchase a 2nd one for the $50 fee and they said "well, we found it earlier and here it is..." Not sure why they didn't say that in the first place. Another strange thing was that one day when we came back, we saw we had one bed had been made and the other was left unmade. We didn't mind but it was just odd. All in all, we will definitely stay here again if the rates stay the same. Just bring some Clorox wipes.

Liked: The location is great, just a short walk to the beach and short drive to the sports center where I participated in a tournament.
Disliked: We had multiple issues during our stay. It started out rough with our room key not working after multiple attempts of the staff changing it as well as changing the whole key reader on the door. At one point the staff member assisting us made it sound like it was our fault for not switching rooms immediately rather than just sticking with the room our stuff was already in and trusting that their efforts to replace the key and key reader. Additionally, the door to the particular room we were in was very loose in the door frame. A solid bar of light could be seen on all sides of the door when closed in the daytime. This meant that at night the sounds from the busy street were super loud in the room. The last night we ended up draping towels on the door then closing it in the frame so it would be tight to the frame and stifle some of the noise coming through. And lastly, the room looked nice but we noticed hair stuck to the walls of the shower from the previous guest before we had ever used the shower. When leaving the room in the morning, I asked the front desk person if housekeeping could clean the restroom, in particular, the shower, in our room. I was very explicit in saying that we did not want housekeeping to touch the beds and other parts of the room, only the shower and bathroom since there was hair stuck to the walls from the previous guest, indicating that it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. However, when we returned to the room in the evening, the beds and our belongings had all been shuffled and remade, while the shower remained the same with the hair on the walls. In general, I felt very exasperated by the whole experience. I don't think I would stay there again.

A stay we won’t forget

Liked: My experience was exceptional, the managers were very friendly and helpful at any time of day or night. Breakfast was very good, the rooms very clean. Maintenance did a fast and great job fixing our clogged sink. They saved my family from a horrible vacation offering a last minute room to accommodate us in a hurry. We were offered fresh coffee and guides to places and restaurants. We were offered a different room for the rest of our stay and we ended up enjoying our vacation even when the weather was not ideal. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.
