Liked: our room had a beach view, and it was pet friendly (free) and close to everything.
Disliked: the floors were dirty , one of the beds had a huge cigarette burn hole in the blanket, door had big cracks i could see outside.

Liked: They had last-minute availability and a great location. Recently remodeled so it feels pretty updated inside. Clean room, comfortable beds/pillows.
Disliked: First, if you just need an affordable place to crash and location is most important, it's fine. Especially if you're traveling with a pet. But it's definitely not luxurious, with little issues: grounds feel a little dirty, with overflowing trash at times and lots of cigarette butts (blame the other tenants for that one). Shower water pressure was pretty abysmal. TV speaker sounded like it kept shorting out. There are no lamps by the bed, so you just have the overhead lights to read/chill by. We were on the third floor, so our rear changing nook had an east-facing window with good blinds (nice!) but no curtain (oops), so morning sunlight illuminated one of the two queen beds. Stuff like that. Oh, and evidently the parking lot is a touch too small, because each morning we woke up to see every parking spot taken and a few improvised spots created. So finding a spot to park if you're arriving very late might be tough. (We arrived around 10pm and got one of the last two or three spots available.)

Red Roof is definitely a...

Liked: First thing into the lobby Omi was a bright spot to a long day. He was professional and very friendly. He greeted me with a smile and check-in was a breeze. He asked me my preference for which floor. Also, while assisting me he was able to help a guest having trouble with their wi-fi. Great multi tasking. Upon check out I got the SAME Omi smiling and professional. He is a definite asset to Red Roof Plus. We’ll be back Red Roof Galveston.
Disliked: The rooms were much more updated and larger than we expected and quite clean. I prefer to use my own pillows and towels but that is my own personal choice not a reflection of the property.
