Red Roof PLUS Washington DC - Manassas

Although this was a non smoking hotel, everyone smokes outside of their rooms so when you turn on the A/C, every room is a smoking room. When I got my key, I opened the room to find two double beds and a horrible smell. I had booked a deluxe King room so I went back to the front desk, who said that my reservation showed two double beds. I told her there was no way I was staying in that room. Not only was it not what I booked but it also wreaked of smoke and Febreze. It left a horrible taste in my mouth. You pay for what you get and this is a cheap place to stay less than 12 hours in to see a concert at Jiffy Lube. I would not stay here for any other reason.

Disliked: Non smoking but mattress, curtains etc. smelled of strong smoke; no blowdryer; no iron or ironing board; only one set of towels.

Clean room, great value.

Liked: Pros: Room was updated and clean. Quiet. Friendly staff. Price was right.
Disliked: Cons: Very little parking. No way to have a bath, as they changed the plumbing hotel-wide recently, and the update didn’t include a way to plug the drain.

Liked: The staff was friendly.
Disliked: The room was too small, two people couldn’t walk past each other. The bathroom door wouldn’t close until you were all the way in and stood behind it. We had to ask for more toilet paper and trash bags. The soap dispenser was terrible- both in the shower and at the sink. You got a TINY amount of soap which made it necessary to push the dispenser at least 8-10 times to get just an amount equal to a twenty-five cent piece (quarter).

Liked: We had a room on the third floor. The room was clean, but the exterior needed many updates. The stairs were old and looked rusty. The elevator needs to be cleaned deeply. The place had garbage all over the exterior. This will be our first and last time using this chain.
Disliked: old and dirty
