The vacation that was so/so!!!!

Liked: We have stayed here several times and love the beauty and Florida feel of the location. We always get a room that is poolside and we can literally walk out of our room and the pool is directly in front of us which is great! The hotel is minutes from ANYTHING, you want or need, and only like 15 minutes from the beach. We always travel with our pet and the fact that they do not charge, like so many other hotels, is so helpful to us when traveling with limited funds.
Disliked: So, I do not like to say negative things about this hotel because I love it so much but there is one huge issue we had and unfortunately was not first time we experienced this. I am understanding to pools closing when bad weather is near the area but on our last day there a small storm had come and gone and during this storm pool was locked. After the storm, which was over before 4 pm, the pool continued to be locked. I asked them to open it but was told there was still clouds, although these were regular florida clouds that were NOT storm clouds. I grew up in Florida and the awesome thing about this state is the amount of different clouds thst can be in the sky at one time. She told me if the sun came out but it even popped out and she still did not unlock it. I pulled up the radar which even showed nothing in that area and that all storms leftover were inland which is exactly how it went. I know dangers about swimming in storms but there were no storms and my 8 year old who desperately wanted to swim just kept looking outside to see if it was unlocked. If you work at the desk you should be flexible and lock/unlock as danger is either present or NOT PRESENT!!!We lost that last day of our vacation and all we can afford is one every year. We have so many personal health things, a hard road for my husband and us as a family, that we are fixing to have to navigate and I wanted this trip to be extra special for him because we don't know if we get next year together. The fire alarm went on an off all night one night causing us to lose sleep and it was fixed next morning but the pool thing costed us an entire day of fun and that is not cool!

Liked: The Pool. Pet friendly.
Disliked: The bed was terrible!! Absolutely the most uncomfortable bed I have slept in, in a while!!! The TV service was terrible. You had to scan thru the channels to find what you wanted to watch. You couldn't just enter the channel number and there was no guide. The room smelled awful!! There were no extra blankets or pillows. Staining on the ceiling, the door had a gap around it. You could see daylight around the whole thing and the window was fogged over because of a bad seal. There was no table and chair setup in there. If you wanted to eat and watch TV you had to sit or lay on the bed which is uncomfortable!!
