Very good

Liked: Clean, hot water was hot. Good value. Air conditioner worked good.

Disappointing

Disliked: Upon arrival, I noticed our exterior door had numerous scratches, likely from a previous guest’s pet, and gaps at the bottom large enough to see outside. The room was an adjoining unit, and the connecting door had visible cracks that allowed light and sound to pass through easily, impacting privacy. While breakfast was offered, the selection was extremely limited — only three items were available when I checked. Overall, the condition of the room and amenities did not meet expectations.

Liked: Breakfast was typical budget hotel fare. Location was good in terms of proximity to interstate. Somewhat removed from attractions.
Disliked: I little noisy. It was a busy weekend in Des Moines with the state fair in progress..., so the price was very high for the type of motel that it is.

Exceptional

Liked: Great location and clean, comfortable rooms. The staff were warm and helpful, making the stay very pleasant. Breakfast was tasty with a good variety. Highly recommend this hotel for comfort and convenience.

Liked: Near the highway and very clean and comfy. Also the lady who checked me in was friendly and wanted to hear about my trip.
Disliked: I’d have liked more breakfast options—maybe some fruit and yogurt
