The Spotlight on Red Lion Inn & Suites Vancouver

Easy Comfort Just Minutes from the Music

Modern and welcoming, the Red Lion Inn & Suites Vancouver offers a laid-back stay in north Vancouver, WA, just a short drive from Portland’s top concert venues. With a relaxed atmosphere and all the essentials like free WiFi and a daily grab-and-go breakfast, this hotel is a great base for fans looking to catch a show and unwind afterward.

Why Concert-goers love it

This spot is a favorite for music fans thanks to its quick access to Portland International Airport (just 20 minutes away) and proximity to local venues. After a high-energy show, guests can relax in the indoor pool and hot tub—a welcome bonus for sore dancing feet. Rooms are well insulated, offering a quiet place to recharge, and the hotel’s convenient check-in at 3:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM gives a little wiggle room around late-night outings.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends will appreciate spacious rooms and nearby dining options.
Solo travelers can count on safety, comfort, and solid amenities.
Couples making a weekend of it will enjoy the pool and cozy rooms.
Fans wanting a quieter post-concert recovery space will love the peaceful vibe.
Budget-conscious music fans get great value with free breakfast and in-room conveniences like a fridge and microwave.

Food and Drink Options

Start your day (even the late ones) with a grab-and-go breakfast served daily. While there’s no on-site restaurant, there are several eateries within walking distance for a post-show bite. In-room microwaves and fridges mean you can stash leftovers or reheat a late-night snack. Complimentary coffee and tea are available throughout the day at the front desk.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself is more about relaxation than revelry, its proximity to Portland means you're never far from live music venues, bars, and lounges. After the show, head back for a quiet night’s rest or stop by one of the local neighborhood spots nearby.

What People Say

Guests love the friendly staff, comfortable beds, and especially the easy access to Portland-area venues. The free WiFi and clean, well-equipped rooms get consistent praise, and the indoor pool and hot tub are a hit with fans looking to unwind after a long night.

Areas for Improvement

Some reviewers mention that the decor feels a bit dated, and the grab-and-go breakfast is more functional than fancy. While not a luxury stay, it's clean, safe, and packed with value for the price.

The Bottom Line

A solid, affordable choice for concert-goers who want comfort, convenience, and easy access to the Portland music scene—without the downtown price tag.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Kurt, Kenmore, visiting Clark County Fairgrounds Ridgefield Mon, 16 May 2022

See my comment above. There was quite a bit of suspicious foot traffic that would enter the enclosed area of the pool, stay a few minutes and then leave on foot, both night and day. The pool was closed. Why were they there? They were all men with backpacks. I did not feel safe at this motel and will not book a room there ever again.

Liked: The room was clean.
Disliked: This is in a shady area of town. Even though the swimming pool was closed, there were many people coming and going into the enclosed room both night and day, staying for just a few minutes. It was very suspicious. Each had a backpack and it appeared that none of them had cars, as they walked in from off the street. I did not feel safe at this hotel.

Pretty good place to stay...

Liked: Walking distance to a Billygan’s Roadhouse and Safeway. They have a pool and breakfast (see below)
Disliked: It was a good 10-15 minute drive from downtown. One of the workers seems to be suffering a Covid hangover and wanted us to reserve a time for the pool when nobody else was there. The second day and a different worker, there was no issues we just went in there in our son played with another family with kids. Also, the breakfast was just OK, seems like another Covid hangover though where everything is in a bag and you just grab it out of the fridge. The lady at the front desk did ask us if we wanted something different and went into the back and got us hatch green chili breakfast sausage burritos (frozen) but they were pretty legit.

Very disappointed!

Liked: This hotel was close to the concert venue. When we were finally able to check in to the hotel at almost midnight the front desk lady was friendly.
Disliked: When we first tried to check in to our room prior to our concert the front desk staff was very rude to us and the people before us. The buildings smelled bad upon entry, and the rooms were not clean. We slept there for 4 hours before we decided to just get up and drive home. They also tried to charge me for the room, even though I had prepaid for it. They did charge me a $100 incidental fee that I had to call and get back after a month because they did not return it to me.

Liked: Breakfast was decent.
Disliked: First room the toilet was leaking along the floor. They gave us a new room no problem. They charged me for the room (in addition to the $100deposit). It better come off soon.

Comfortable, easy location.

Liked: The room was nice and comfortable except for the small pillows. The breakfast was a take back to your room breakfast, which seems a little odd, but there was really no place to eat in the lobby, so I was happy to even have a breakfast. Location was very close to where we needed to go to visit family.,
Disliked: Nothing to mention.

Unfriendly Pet Pet-Friendly Hotel

Liked: Room Comfortable; A/C functioned well.
Disliked: My wife was nearly bitten by a large Doberman Pinscher in the hotel's narrow hallway just down from our room. The massive dog barked and lunged, teeth bared, at my startled spouse. Fortunately it was held back mere inches from my wife by its owner struggling to restrain it by its collar. This type of vicious creature has no place in a lodging facility except perhaps in an outdoor cage. In addition, an unseen dog in an adjacent room barked every time that room's door opened. Fortunately this nuisance noise was not heard after 9:45 PM.
