Red Lion Hotel Portland Airport

We were quite late checking in. I called at 11:00 pm to apologize for late arrival. The front desk clerk was very friendly, assuring me he was early awaiting our arrival. We were given helpful suggestions/directions for a late dinner. After we returned and had gone up to our room, the front desk clerk called to let us know that the hotel driver had noticed our dome light was on. Saved us a dead battery! I will return whenever I have need for a hotel in Portland.

Not worth it!

Liked: It was near the airport
Disliked: There was no breakfast and the swimming pool was closed. Those two things were why I chose that place. I didn’t get notified about them not having those two options until after I booked it and of course it is non- refundable. They said “due to COVID”! Yeah right, your company realized how much money you save not having breakfast or the swimming pool so now you are just lying to everyone for profit!

Disappointing

Liked: Proximity to PDX airport and shuttle to airport.
Disliked: Property was run down. Room was 218. The 2nd floor hall way to the room stunk....if the room would have smelled like the hall way, I am not sure I could have stayed there. Sheets and towels were old and worn. The sheet on one of the queen beds was so worn it was frayed. The door into the room had a gap between it and the door jam that light and sound from the hall way easily came through into the room. The carpet in the hallway on 2nd floor looks dirty, stained and worn. The carpet in the room did look clean. The bathroom appearance did not give me confidence that it was clean. I have stayed at this property several times starting in about 2017 through now. The deline in the up keep of the property is making me question whether or not I will be staying there on an upcoming trip towards the end of this month.

Disliked: No elevator, stinky musty hallways, old cigarette smoke, animal smells, it’s time to rebuild this hotel. Large dog barked at me as I was trying to find my room. I didn’t realize this is a pet friendly hotel.

Disliked: No elevator to second floor rooms

Comfortable, clean, and convenient hotel.

Liked: Right next to the airport. Good amount of parking, at a reasonable per/day rate.Super comfortable beds - they are very soft, which I enjoy.Staff were always cheerful and willing to help.
Disliked: Under flight path, so there is jet noise - but that is to be expected when you’re right next to an airport.
