I would not recommend this hotel.
Liked: The hotel was close to downtown.
Disliked: The staff was not very friendy. The hotel itself needs updates; did not seem very clean.

Gross
Liked: Nothing
Disliked: Hotel had so much duct tape that they used to repair stuff. Not clean at all. Rooms dirty. Stained and gross curtains. Very rundown and gross. Worst then Motel 6.

Do not recommend this at...
Liked: The bed was fine in the bathroom was clean
Disliked: All of the furniture in the room was horrible damaged. The view of the roof was horrible and unclean could not see through the sliding glass door. The outside of the building needed serious repair. Sprinklers soaked my truck. The sign saying no breakfast today.

Bad
Liked: It was a decent price
Disliked: It wasn’t clean, the beds kept sliding when we would go to get on them. The pool was “closed” online but when we got there it was open. I was offered a pack n play for my baby to sleep in and it was broken.

Disappointed

The price was right but...
Liked: The best thing about the red lion Boise was the price.
Disliked: Our room keys kept demagnetizing, there was water damage and mold above the bathroom door, leaky water in the tub causes a stain under the faucet. No ac. And the bar closed at 9 and the bartender was not very friendly.

Choose a motel with bed...
Liked: The staff did a great job balancing all the guests needs on a surprisingly busy evening. Wearing a smile the whole time.
Disliked: This place is dilapidated. Holes in the curtains. Can’t adjust the temperature because the thermostat is falling off the wall. Drywall crumbling in the bathroom. The plumbing made the toilet run the whole night. Those are just the easy things to describe. This is the kind of hotel quality I would expect paying 30 bucks a night in a ghost town. But not what I would expect for the price and beautiful city it’s in.

Not what the hotel used...
Liked: The bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious. Front desk attendant was cordial, but by herself so it took 15 minutes until we were able to get checked in.
Disliked: The minifridge was unavailable due to a large ice mass that had overtaken the small freezer portion in it. The AC did not work in our room. Luckily it was something of a cooler summer evening; had it been August the room would have been unbearably hot. Housekeeping did a subpar job on getting the bathroom cleaned ahead of our stay- dried proteins on the bowl of the toilet and smeared toothpaste on the counter. Dried up and broken water features outside. Front desk understaffed.

Adequate for one night.
Liked: Speed of check in. Comfortable bed.
Disliked: This hotel is showing its age. Everything needs upgrading. The carpet in the hall is being held down with duct tape. The furniture is banged up by vacuuming. The shower has nothing to hold on to. The entry doorway areas are filthy. Elevator button was not working. Too bad because the location is good.
