Liked: The staff at check in were very kind and accommodating.
Disliked: The AC in the room did not work. It said it was set to 16 degrees but it was boiling hot all night, to the point where we could not sleep with any blankets and woke up throughout the night in pools of sweat. Unbearable to sleep when that is the whole point of a hotel. Room also smelt of cigarettes though it was a non-smoking room.

Disliked: ⭐ If I could give 0 stars, I would.My spouse and I stayed at the Red Deer Resort & Casino last weekend for her bodybuilding competition, and the experience was absolutely horrible — especially when it came to customer service.While the hotel itself was decent, the treatment we received completely ruined what was supposed to be a memorable weekend. We requested a late checkout on Saturday and were transferred to another room — only to find out it was located on the second floor with no elevator access. Lugging all of our gear upstairs, including competition essentials, was an absolute nightmare.It gets worse.The new room had no working AC, and despite being told maintenance would come fix it, no one ever showed up. As a result, the room became unbearably hot, and the heat caused my girlfriend’s professional spray tan to run — ruining both her look and the experience she had worked so hard for.To top it off, the sink in the bathroom was clogged, adding yet another layer of frustration.We decided not to stay the night and asked for a refund at the front desk. A man who identified himself as Justin (though we strongly doubt that was his real name) said all he could offer was $30 off. He was rude, dismissive, and made no effort whatsoever to make things right. It was clear he didn’t care about helping us or resolving the situation.This level of negligence and poor service is unacceptable for any guest, let alone athletes staying for a major event. We’ve already passed this information along to the bodybuilding competition promoter, who agreed this situation was beyond unprofessional.If you’re coming to Red Deer for an event or just need a good place to stay — do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel.Try the Sandman nearby or any other hotel that actually values its customers and treats them with basic respect.
