We left and went somewhere...
Liked: It was beside a Brahms
Disliked: The door had a 1/2 inch hole to the outdoors. It didn’t fit the door frame. It was windy and the door made a noise every time the wind blew.

Nothing fancy but clean!
Liked: The room was clean and the linens and towels were clean, white and not stained.
Disliked: When we arrived at dusk/dark, no lights were on outside to luminate the site and location!! The person at the front desk had to be called on a desk phone and he arrived shortly. I asked if the motel was open as the outside lights were not on.He said, Oh, guess I just forgot!" No breakfast was served. There were only two cars in the parking lot - very few travelers stayed at this motel! It is an older motel but our room was okay for the nights we stayed there.

Although my visit to Newton...
Liked: For the past several years, I have stayed at the Red Coach every time I come to Newton. It is centrally located to all of Newton's restaurants, museums, and attractions, and is reasonably priced. It is a beautiful, very old - and to me - contains a lovely touch of Newton history. It used to house an amazing, upscale restaurant, game room, pool, hot tub, and all the extra amenities that you would expect in a "touch of class" hotel. Family reunions, large scale events, and business meetings all used to be conducted there. However, since the era of Covid, it too has been hit with a decrease of visitors. They have since had to discontinue many of their added amenities. My heart almost broke this weekend, seeing how much the decrease in foot traffic has affected this hotel. It is still beautiful, even without all of the extras. The rooms are still clean, and the service is excellent. The manager quite friendly and has a memory that is equal to none. He remembers all of his guests, every single one of them. He has owned the hotel through all of the ups and downs of the economic world. And although, things have slowed down, he maintains a positive attitude. He has loved and cherished this hotel for years. I hope that he is able to maintain it, and that future visitors to Newton will seek it out and bring it back to its flourishing years of the past. If you love history, and love supporting older places, you will love this unique and comfortable place to stay in Newton, KS.
Disliked: N/A - The quiet and comfortable is as it always has been. I would love to see visitors begin to swarm back to this hidden treasure in Newton, KS.
