Paul D, Sandnes, Norway, visiting University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory

The first impression continues inside the Rectory. Gentile. One feels you are entering a dear friend's home, with staff. The Harrods tableware matches perfectly with the dining rooms. Looking onto a rustic garden with a plethora of song birds and the screech of the resident Buzzard. Black sheep and horses in the paddock. Wonderful friendly staff, happy to help you as best they can. Roger is a wonderful, caring host. Rectory Farm is to be recomended.

Liked: The location on 25 acres of rural landscape is excellent. Electric gates sets the tone. The main house where we stayed with log fires burning really makes you feel at home. Roger the owner is a gentile man that truly does care that your stay is perfect.
Disliked: The breakfasts, although an excellent Continental with fresh fruits and yoghurts and full on Standard English, the time of one hour was a minimum.

Lovely property, great breakfast. Located...

Liked: The location is lovely with a country location. There is a Main House where a breakfast buffet is served with seating outside, in the conservatory or dining room, all with beautiful views. The breakfast were very good with traditional choices. The room itself was comfortable with the usual amenities.
Disliked: I believed I had booked a room in the main house, but in fact it was in 1 of 2 separate buildings. Reception staff are not available until 4 pm - no one is there during the day. We were supplied with one towel each and 1 small bar of soap. Some of the ground level rooms are accessed with private outside doors and when they go to the parking lot & breakfast they passed by our window and could look in. It was very hot and we were unable to have drapes open at night.

A very quaint place just...

Liked: This was a beautiful place outside of Cambridge but you can go downtown by car in 10-15 minutes. It’s very quaint and quiet. Ample parking is available and we enjoyed our stay a lot.
Disliked: The pool is outside and costs extra per person. That’s borderline ridiculous.

Lovely setting, gardens and location.

Liked: Lovely location. Great setting.
Disliked: Rooms were very small. It was difficult to find a spot on the floor for my suitcase and my husband’s bag. One of the en suite bathrooms was made for very short folk!!

Liked: Great place, lovely surroundings. Close to the park and ride facility.
Disliked: No fridge in the room. The English breakfast could be better for the price of it.

Very good value

Liked: We loved the location and walked to the 'park and ride' to get into town for a meal. The room was very good for the price. It took us a while to get used to full glazing on one wall in the barn rooms requiring curtains to be drawn if you want privacy..
Disliked: Bathrooms need a refresh in the barn rooms to be honest. I'm sure bathrooms in the main house would be better. When we checked in no one tried to take the payment despite the payment having apparently failed twice on two different cards when we booked. We didn't realise this at the time. The cards are fine so something was wrong with the payment scheme we think. We then tried to find someone to pay on the morning of our departure but the office was locked and eventually we found a cleaner and told her. We called the contact number but no one answered. There was no one else around but we didn't want to leave without paying. Eventually we sent an email to the contact address and the payment was taken from the card that previously had failed. No big deal really but maybe some way of contacting a staff member in person if something needs attention.
