A lovely trip!

Liked: Sammy was very welcoming and we loved our room and the decor - clearly has been redecorated very recently. Everywhere was very clean. We were the ‘VIP’ guests, chosen by the hotel, for the weekend so we got a lovely additional hamper with snacks - that was a lovely touch! The breakfast was great on the Saturday morning (the Sunday morning clearly was a different chef as the breakfast was a lot smaller!)
Disliked: The only thing was that were was no full length mirror (I was getting ready for a wedding) and so had to use the one small bathroom mirror. Food was also a bit pricey!

A lovely, traditional, peaceful stay

Liked: We loved the decor throughout the hotel. The whole place is warm and inviting, traditional but not old.The grounds are wonderful, with an outdoor pool.
Disliked: The bed was a bit too firm and the toilet rolls were cheap. The swimming pool was too cold and wasn't manned so I didn't want to linger there which was disappointing.

Will never stay here again...

Liked: The location is lovely
Disliked: This hotel is very dirty , from the moment we arrived until we left 5 days later nothing got better , cleaning and I use the word loosely was disgraceful thick dust , cobwebs , dirty , mirrors you can’t see out of for filthy cloth marks and grime , servicing the room what a joke that is

Perfect location for weddings and...

Liked: Beautiful old building in extensive grounds adjacent to the A14 but very quiet location.Stayed in main building which I think was a better choice than in the outbuildings especuially if there is a wedding at the venue on the day of stay.Nice swimming pool and lots of tasteful areas in the shade. Lovely bar and restaurant areas for evening meals and breakfast. Would certainly stay agaIn .... Cheddar the cockerel who wanders the grounds is a joy but does have a very good pair of lungs! Staff members all exceptionally helpful.
Disliked: When busy overnight an early morning litter pick would be a good idea ....

Idyllic.

Liked: Always loved the hotel. Been staying for years. And don't miss breakfast. Best pork in the country.
Disliked: Not completely sure about the redecoration. New guest will like it. Long time guests may not. I personally preferred the old flooring and walls. Just personal choice.
