Peaceful Farmhouse Charm Just Outside Sheffield

Modern comfort meets country calm at Ravencar Farm B&B, located in the village of Marsh Lane near Dronfield. Set in a charming farmhouse, this 4-star bed and breakfast offers a quiet retreat just 8.5 miles from Sheffield's FlyDSA Arena. With scenic surroundings, allergy-free rooms, and thoughtful amenities like free Wi-Fi and parking, it's a refreshing alternative to big-city hotels.

Whether you're hiking by day or heading to a gig by night, this spot blends rustic relaxation with easy access to top venues and nature spots like Chatsworth House and Sherwood Forest.

Why Concert-goers love it

You're just a short drive or taxi ride from FlyDSA Arena, making it easy to enjoy your favorite band without the bustle of city accommodations. The peaceful location means you'll return to a quiet, cozy room after the show—ideal for winding down. Need flexibility? Check-in starts at 15:30, so you can arrive with time to freshen up before heading out. Plus, there's free private parking, which is a bonus if you're road-tripping to the gig.

- Solo travelers looking for a safe, peaceful stay after seeing a favorite artist
- Couples making a romantic weekend of a concert night
- Fans needing a quiet recovery zone after the encore
- Budget-conscious music lovers who want value with charm

Food and Drink Options

While there's no on-site restaurant, Ravencar Farm B&B offers packed lunches for daytime adventures, and breakfast is available to help you recover from a late night. A fridge and kettle in your room make it easy to stash snacks or brew a late-night tea. Local pubs and eateries are a short drive away for post-show meals.

Nightlife Options

This isn’t a party hotel—but that’s kind of the point. After the show, enjoy a relaxing drink on the terrace or under the stars in the picnic area. For more action, Sheffield’s bars and clubs are within easy reach by taxi or car.

What People Say

Guests praise the spotless rooms, friendly hosts, and beautiful countryside setting. Many mention the tranquility and say it’s a great place to recharge after a busy day or night out. The strong Wi-Fi and comfortable beds also get frequent shout-outs.

Areas for Improvement

It’s in a rural area, so you’ll likely need a car or taxi to get to and from concerts—public transport is limited late at night. There’s also no on-site dining beyond breakfast, but local options are nearby if you plan ahead.

The Bottom Line

If you want a quiet, comfortable base near Sheffield’s music scene with countryside charm, Ravencar Farm B&B hits all the right notes.

Liked: As other guests have stated Helen is a lovley , friendly and polite hostess. The property itself is nice and quiet surrounded by fields but in easy distance of shopping, petrol stations, motorway ect.The room iteslf is cosy and has a wet room if like myself you struggle in and out of the bath.Breakfast is top notch,in fact i couldnt eat it all.Would definitely stay again.Great for couples or singles.

Excellent!

Liked: Perfect for our 2 night stay. Comfy room with toiletries, tea/coffee in room, secure parking, lovely breakfast cooked fresh when required. Helen went out of her way to ensure we were happy with everything, even went out of her way to take us into Sheffield and pick us up after our concert. If we return to Sheffield area will definitely stay here again.
Disliked: Really can not fault anything.

Bad

Disliked: We didn't get to stay here as the owner sent us a text message on the morning we were due to stay to say she couldn't accommodate us due to her having shingles. It didn't occur to me until a few days later that our payment was never taken so i now assume she cancelled our stay days before letting us know. Not happy. I'll not be re booking .

Relaxing rural stay

Liked: Wonderful host, room, facilities and location. My daughters and I could not have had a nicer or more relaxing stay. Very close to Renishaw Hall and enjoyed a pub dinner nearby too. Very family-friendly with a triple room and views overlooking the stable. We hope to book another stay soon!
