Going downhill hill

Liked: Bed was comfortable
Disliked: When we arrived, our room was hot, 85°...we turned the A/C on and went to my brother's room to eat , his AC was working. An hour later went back to our room, still 85°.. we told the clerk at front desk and he gave us another room. Same thing. Hot! But we gave it time as we could feel the cold coming out of the vent. It never got completely cold, as We could feel the heat coming thru vent, now it's 2:00 a.m. and 85° in the room. Finally fell asleep at 4a.m., woke up at 9:30a.m. drenched, it was still 85°. Worst night. We checked out and complained to desk clerk, she was no help. Just said the manager wasn't in and gave me a business card. We've stayed here before, last year and it was great, but this time we noticed even the exterior looks like they have not kept up with the property. Also, the vent in bathroom was taped with masking tape, needs painting and chips all around and water leak coming from above the shower.

Looks rundown and old. Not...

Liked: I liked the palm trees outside and the location wasn’t far from places to eat.
Disliked: It wasn’t very clean. Looked rundown and old. There was hanging plastic from the ceiling right outside our room in the hallway, like it was supposed to be blocked off for renovation but had fallen down.

Great location to the university...

Liked: The location to the interstate and the convention center.
Disliked: The cost for the run down rooms and the overall mugginess of the whole building due to the pool being open air in the center of the building.

Not clean, unprofessional staff, definitely...

Liked: Lobby was clean and pretty
Disliked: Staff was rude, unhelpful, and hallways to rooms were gross. No more restaurant or bar open. (Main reason we chose this location from previous stay a year ago) room was ok but not completely clean, floor had not been swept or mopped. Roof had a ton of water spots and peeling panels. They are definitely letting this place fall apart. Breakfast was joke.

I love this hotel ,...

Liked: I love the originality of the building, especially the clerk’s desk and the automatic doors as you walk in. It’s very welcoming.
Disliked: The carpet in the hall way, and they breakfast is really simple for the hotel having a restaurant. Some eggs and potatoes would be good or biscuits and gravy.
