great location & not bad...

Liked: the staff working the breakfast shift were amazing - such fantastic energy & couldn't do enough for us! left us feeling very positive about the hotelthe lady on reception at checkin the night before was clearly very tired & wasn't a very positive energy for greeting new customers who had not stayed there before
Disliked: the dubious characters hanging around in the entrance at both checkin & as we left felt a little threatening & didn't give the hotel a positive reputation!

Good value for what we...

Liked: Breakfast was good and plentiful, location was fine for our overnight stay, room was clean and large. The biggest selling point were the staff who were amazing!!
Disliked: Bed wasn’t very comfortable, pillows flat.

Great overnight stay

Liked: Hotel is in a great location for walking to the Toon. It was clean and affordable. However, the best thing about our stay were the staff. They were so friendly and attentive.

Be prepared & forwarned.

Liked: On arrival staff were fine. Room clean public areas clean & fine. Dinner was very nice & service fine. Buffet breakfast was fine staff were very helpful & attentive.Usual fair and standard with fruit nice coffee etc Full English crossants etc. Cereals. Yoghurts etc. Very comfy bed.
Disliked: On returning to room at 10.23 am door wide open, maid cleaning bathroom. Asked why I wasnt checking out. I said checkout at11 am. She gave filthy look threw towels on floor in front of door for met to trip on & stormed off. After checking headphones £10 note cola & medication missing. On reporting to reception they said she should'nt have been in room at all. After reporting matter to police manager was unapologetic, vile, interrogatory & accusatory saying I was accusing maid of theft which was unfounded. Police did confirm this place is used to house homeless families drug addicts alcoholics etc. Food was stolen from breakfast area that morning by thieves wandering in. Babies & children were having screaming matches at breakfast & dinner at painfully ear piercing volumes& was visibly annying other guests & staff. None of this is warned about on the website. It ruined my break & made me very il & unable to enjoy sighhtseeing. Avoid avoid avoid.
