Ramada by Wyndham Medicine Hat

This stay was like being...

Liked: This was one of my four stays at Ramada by Wyndham since April of 2025. Before those stays, I had not been in Medicine Hat since before the COVID-19 pandemic, which started in March of 2020. The hotel went through an ownership chance since I was last in the Hat, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Everything was outstanding. The staff were all courteous, friendly and helpful. I was in recently renovated rooms for work stays and the environment was fantastic. The Internet worked like a charm, and no noise from other rooms filtered in, which allowed me to get my work tasks done. I am a sports writer/photographer by trade. I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, as the sausages and scrambled eggs they served are favourites for me. As for location, this hotel is located in the neighourhood I lived in when I was a resident of Medicine Hat for 10 years. It was perfect for me. Overall, I felt like I was home again during my stays there.
Disliked: There were no disappointments during my stays.

Liked: it was a place to sleep....I guess.
Disliked: First off, in my eyes, anywhere you park in front of your room, motel, so calling it a hotel is a stretch. 2 room was small, for our family of 4 it was tight. 3 our room had a shower head, but no way to utilize it, whomever installed the "new taps" in the tub, didn't realize you need to have a button to activate the useless shower head on the wall. 4 while I'm on the bathroom, it's a cubicle, period. 3 towels for 4 people in the room (math is hard i guess) 5 and I can't stress this enough, $200 damage deposit that I still have yet to see back. We stayed in a MUCH nicer HOTEL recently that didn't charge me for a damage deposit before checking in, the purpose of your card on file is so if there is damages, they can charge it then (we were in the room roughly 9 hours, came up, checked in around 8-8:30, went to a movie, came back around 11:30, slept, got up, packed our stuff and left around 9, I mention this only because I've had to stay in a lot of hotels for work in the past and always believed in leaving it as close to when you arrived, so....where'smy money back for the deposit?). It's a rip off, $60 motel room, at best, over priced to between 130-180 bucks. I'll never step foot in here again.

Request a renovated room or...

Liked: The bed was comfy.
Disliked: The room was filthy. My partner stayed here for a month for work. I actually spent a day of my visit cleaning the room and purchasing things to try to make his stay better. The rate changed every time we had to extend the stay. There is a renovated side and a non renovated side.. perhaps the renovated side is cleaner and nicer. But the room we had was literally gross. The floors got an actual wash once in the entire month. The walls were covered in grime and the appliances were filthy. The hot tub was dirty and lukewarm. Did not try the pool.

great place to stay for...

Liked: good location in Medicine Hat, close to lots of restaurants, stores, gas station. room has full sized fridge/freezer which is a huge plus. pet friendly rooms upon request with a small fee compared to nearby hotels
Disliked: shower flooded entire bathroom but let staff know to hopefully fix for next guests

Liked: Location was easily accessible. Comfortable sleep. Quiet. Good bed. Older motel...but clean. Good value for the money.
