Ramada by Wyndham Birmingham Airport

The hotel is run down. The room had an old/moldy smell. The hotel need to be demolished and remodeled. Random people hanging outside the hotel so safety is a big issue. I would not recommend this hotel.

3 Star hotel. Nothing special.

Liked: Location was relatively close to the venue and the cheap price was a plus. Beds were comfortable. Room included fridge and microwave. Bathroom was clean.

If you're in town for...

Liked: The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, the shower was hot, there was a mini fridge in the room, it's only a 4 minute drive from the airport, and the price is cheap.
Disliked: It's an old property that is in desperate need of an upgrade. The complimentary breakfast was sparse and might as well have been non-existent. Vending machines only take cash. The shower head was so low on the wall, you'd have to be shorter than 5' to take a decent shower. The pool looked nice, but was closed. Fox news was on in the lobby--not the most congenial thing to see/hear when one first walks into an establishment. Staff is neither pleasant nor very helpful. Finally, as others have mentioned here, I too was charged $50 for room damages that never happened.

Disliked: Very very very strong weed and smoke smell throughout the hotel. A strong sharp squealing sound would come from the bathroom (the pipes maybe?) about every 30 minutes all through the night. The elevator should not be in operation it shakes rattles and gets stuck. Multiple booted cars in the parking lot.
