The Radstock hotel was very...

Liked: Evening meal we had was very good and well presented.
Disliked: Car parking area was adequate, but difficult for us on motorcycles.

We are disappointed by the...

Liked: Comfortable bed in a decent sized room.
Disliked: We both have mobility issues and walk with a stick. We were advised that there were 13 stairs up to Room 1, which was the least inaccessible when we booked, but carried on with the booking due to the relative proximity to family we were visiting. On arrival, we were informed that the room wasn't available for the first night (although it would be for the second night). We were offered either two single rooms, up a couple of stairs, or a double room on the second floor. We rejected both. Staff contacted another hotel nearby who were able to accommodate us for the first night, and said that, since the unavailability of the room was their fault, told us that they would refund us the cost of that hotel stay. They also informed us that they would refund us for both nights at their hotel; we were subsequently informed that, for this second refund, they would issue an invoice to Booking.com of £0, and that Booking.com would then refund us.Staff at the hotel were very apologetic, and told us that the hotel had been under a different management when we booked, and they had not left any record of our requirements. Although I have sent two e-mails to the hotel I have had no response, and have received no refunds to date. I accept that having only verbal promises about the refunds, and having nothing in writing, was an error on my part, and that there may be little that I can do to ensure that we get the refunds.

Great value for a stopover...

Liked: The guy running it was superb. Friendly. Helpful. The room had been recently redecorated. The bathroom looked like it needed a bit more work. Breakfast was superb. I turned up quite late (around 9pm) so they'd stopped serving food. However I was given info on local takeaways so I could grab something.
Disliked: Only that it had no aircon. This wasn't a problem that particular night as it wasn't too warm with the window wide open. However on a hotter night I couldn't have stayed at the hotel.

Nice budget hotel within easy...

Liked: The rooms were a really good size. Tea, coffee and biscuits were available in the room. The bed was comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was available in the pub. There was ample parking.
Disliked: The bedroom & bathroom were clean but tatty. The paint on the radiator was peeling off and the towel rail was loose. We stayed on the top floor and the stairs up were quite steep.
