The Spotlight on Radisson Plaza Hotel At Kalamazoo Center

Downtown Comfort Steps from Kalamazoo's Music Scene

Modern and welcoming, the Radisson Plaza Hotel At Kalamazoo Center blends convenience with comfort in the heart of downtown Kalamazoo. Just a short walk from local live music venues and nightlife, this hotel offers spacious rooms with 37-inch flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and thoughtful amenities like a fitness center, indoor pool, and hot tub. With four on-site restaurants and complimentary airport transfers, it’s a solid pick for concert fans looking for an easy, full-service stay.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and this hotel puts you just steps from Kalamazoo’s top music venues. Whether you're heading to a sold-out show or catching a last-minute set, you'll appreciate being able to walk or grab a quick ride. The check-in time of 4:00 PM is ideal for arriving before a show, and the 12:00 PM checkout gives you time to recover after a late night. Rooms are quiet and cozy, perfect for recharging after the encore.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a central spot to crash after the show
  • Solo travelers chasing a bucket-list band
  • Couples making a weekend of it with music and downtown vibes
  • Fans needing a quiet space to wind down post-concert
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want quality and convenience

Food and Drink Options

With four full-service restaurants on-site, you won’t go hungry after a show. From casual bites to full meals, there's something for every craving. While there’s no official 24/7 room service, the range of dining options covers all mealtimes, and breakfast is available late enough to sleep in. Downtown Kalamazoo also offers walkable eateries just minutes away.

Nightlife Options

After the concert, keep the night going with nearby bars and lounges in the downtown area. The hotel’s own venues offer a more relaxed vibe if you’re looking to wind down with a cocktail or Michigan craft brew. While there's no live music on-site, you're never far from the next act.

What People Say

Guests love the central location, walkability to shops and entertainment, and the friendly, accommodating staff. The rooms are often described as clean, spacious, and comfortable, with the bonus of a well-maintained pool and fitness area. Many mention that it’s a great base for exploring Kalamazoo’s music and arts scene.

Areas for Improvement

Parking can be a bit tricky during busy weekends, and the hotel’s popularity sometimes leads to longer check-in lines. A few guests noted that the decor could use a modern refresh in some areas—but overall, it’s a minor note in an otherwise solid stay.

The Bottom Line

If you’re coming to Kalamazoo for the music, the Radisson Plaza Hotel At Kalamazoo Center offers the location, comfort, and post-show convenience concert-goers crave.

Just OK…nothing special.

Liked: The front desk was a mixture…For some reason, the young man, in training, at the front desk gave us a handicap room…We asked for a regular room and were given a new room immediately. All rooms have the air conditioning fan, 3 feet from, and facing the bed. The fan is on 24/7, so if you’re sensitive to sound, it makes it difficult to sleep, aside from a constant direct flow of air. blowing on the bed.The bathroom is extremely small. If you are standing at the sink, your calf is touching the side of the toilet. The hotel is clean.

Somewhat marginal on daily service

Liked: The hallways on the floors were mot vacuumed daily. I had cherrios outside my door for 2 days. They were not mine. Although the rooms are not cleaned daily, someone should at least straighten the room and replace coffee cups without having to call for service.
