The Spotlight on Radisson Hotel Duluth-Harborview

Retro Charm Meets Concert Convenience in Downtown Duluth

Modern comfort with a retro twist, the Radisson Hotel Duluth-Harborview is a classic stay in the heart of downtown. As Minnesota’s longest operating Radisson, this circular landmark offers sweeping views of Lake Superior and the city skyline. Whether you're here for a show or a weekend escape, you'll enjoy a totally unique hotel experience, complete with a 70’s-inspired lobby that once welcomed music legends like Elvis Presley and Bob Dylan.

Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel couldn’t be better placed for catching a show. Thanks to its full connection to the Skywalk system, you can reach both the DECC and Amsoil Arena without ever stepping outside—a huge win during harsh Duluth winters. After the encore, head back to your room for a quiet night, as the hotel is known for its peaceful atmosphere despite being so central. Late check-out at 12:00 gives you time to recover the next morning, and with free parking and fast Wi-Fi, your stay is as hassle-free as it gets.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends heading to a big show—spacious rooms and a casual bar make it easy to hang out
  • Solo travelers ticking off a bucket-list concert—safe, central, and welcoming
  • Couples making a weekend of it—romantic views and on-site dining add a special touch
  • Fans needing post-show quiet—the relaxed atmosphere is perfect for winding down
  • Budget-conscious music lovers—great value with extras like parking and Wi-Fi included

Food and Drink Options

On-site dining comes with a twist—literally. Harbor 360 is a rotating rooftop restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. It’s casual, affordable, and ideal for sharing a meal with your crew while soaking in panoramic harbor views. There’s also a full bar and board games if you’re not ready to call it a night. While there’s no 24/7 room service, in-room microwaves and mini-fridges make late-night snacks easy, and plenty of walkable restaurants are just minutes away.

Nightlife Options

If your night doesn’t end with the concert, you’re in luck. From the hotel, it’s an easy stroll to Canal Park’s bars, lounges, and breweries, where you can keep the party going or unwind with a local craft beer. Prefer to stay in? Harbor 360’s bar scene offers a relaxed vibe with a view.

What People Say

Guests love the location and views, calling it a perfect base for concerts and harbor sightseeing. The retro design is a hit with those looking for something different, and many appreciate the easy indoor access to venues. Staff friendliness and the unique character of the hotel frequently get shout-outs in reviews.

Areas for Improvement

Some rooms could use a refresh, and the circular layout means not all guests get floor-to-ceiling views. While Harbor 360 is a cool spot, it can get busy—especially after events—so plan ahead if you're hungry post-show.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers in Duluth, Radisson Hotel Duluth-Harborview offers unbeatable proximity to venues, stunning views, and a one-of-a-kind retro vibe in the heart of the action.

Disliked: Rooms very small; elevators ridiculously slow. Hotel needs major renovation.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Rochelle, Duluth, MN, visiting DECC Duluth Sun, 27 October 2013

This was my first experience using this service and visiting this city. I will consider other sites for future travel.

Disliked: I was disappointed in the rooms. When I looked for hotels in the area, the information for the Radisson stated that they now offered Sleep Number beds. The beds did not work. The mattress was very uncomfortable to sleep on. The Sleep Number bed was the main draw for my selecting the Radisson over other hotel offerings in the area. Also, the continental breakfast consisted of weak coffee. It was not what I expected at all.

Liked: Nice place, clean and nice walk to the DECC.

I would say disappointing and...

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: Very dirty! We were initially given a room that either someone was still using or it was never cleaned. There were pill bottles and trash everywhere. The second room was a little better but still dirty and there were dried boogers on the shower curtain! To top this off there was also no hot water. 10/10 would not recommend.

Fine

Liked: The location. The hotel was very accommodating to my dog. I am a 100 percent combat disabled veteran .
Disliked: I was never refunded my deposit. The room wasn't clean. The price for the room was very high. I got a huge suite in canal park for less money. I would like my deposit back .

It was quiet and close...

Liked: The rooftop restaurant is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the view of Lake Superior and the city of Duluth
Disliked: The bathroom was small and the toilet was the lowest I’ve seen in years. I did not specify disabled, but even non disabled would have had trouble here. I can’t imagine how uncomfortable this would be for a taller person.
