The Spotlight on Radisson Blu Edwardian New Providence Wharf

Stylish riverside comfort near London’s top venues

Modern and elegant, the Radisson Blu Edwardian New Providence Wharf offers a peaceful retreat with a luxury twist. Tucked along the Thames in East London’s business district, this 4-star hotel blends upscale décor with thoughtful amenities. Think Italian marble bathrooms, Egyptian cotton bedding, and floor-to-ceiling river views—all within easy reach of the O2 Arena and ExCeL London via a short DLR journey.

Why Concert-goers love it

With Blackwall and East India DLR stations just a 10-minute walk away, getting to and from shows is simple—even late at night. The hotel’s location offers a quieter, more relaxed vibe than central London, perfect for winding down after a high-energy gig. Flexible check-in from 3pm and a soothing on-site spa help make recovery even easier. Plus, the free high-speed WiFi and in-room entertainment (with up to 300 channels) make post-show streaming or replays a breeze.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends looking to crash in style after a night out
Solo travelers ticking off a dream concert
Couples turning a gig into a romantic weekend
Fans seeking quiet luxury after loud live sets
Budget-conscious music fans who value comfort and location without splurging on central prices

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant, Scoff and Banter Canary Wharf, serves up Modern European dishes with locally sourced ingredients. There’s also a sleek riverside bar and terrace—ideal for a pre-show bite or post-gig unwind. While 24/7 room service isn't listed, the restaurant and bar offer extended hours. Breakfast is available for late risers recovering from a night out.

Nightlife Options

Though there’s no live music on-site, you’re a quick DLR ride from London's hottest venues. Prefer to stay local? The hotel bar offers a relaxed atmosphere with craft cocktails and river views. Nearby Canary Wharf also features a mix of upscale bars, lounges, and pubs just a short walk away.

What People Say

Guests rave about the peaceful riverside location, luxurious rooms, and the spa’s calming vibe—especially the steam room and sauna. Many applaud the friendly, professional staff, and the easy access to both the O2 and ExCeL via public transport earns consistent praise. The hotel is often described as a hidden gem in East London.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the hotel is a bit removed from central London nightlife, so it's ideal if you're headed to venues in East London rather than the West End. The 10-minute walk to the DLR might feel long after a late concert, especially in bad weather—so pack an umbrella just in case.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for riverside luxury, spa vibes, and stress-free access to East London’s biggest gigs, Radisson Blu Edwardian New Providence Wharf is a top-tier pick for concert-goers.

Great hotel. Super comfy mattress and pillow. Easy to adjust room temperature. Very clean.

Liked: The beds were so comfy; pillows were just right. Room temperature was easily adjustable. Bathroom was spotless.
Disliked: Why was the wardrobe in the bathroom?

We booked The Radisson Blu Edwardian thinking it was close to the Abba Arena, due to it being listed on your website. Although the hotel was very good it cost us £25 to get to the Arena by taxi. On booking we thought we would be in walking distance. Apart from disorganisation at breakfast time we enjoyed our stay.

Liked: Most staff were excellent. The hotel was so clean and comfortable.
Disliked: Breakfast was disappointing because of the lack of obvious leadership. The staff were trying hard under pressure. One member of staff ignored us whilst he was on his phone for a considerable time.

A Radisson experience.

Liked: The location is apt. Very central, nearest to all needed places. Ambiance, great view as my room was overlooking the water. Quiet, friendly staff, secure. It was a great experience. Will definitely be visiting again. Great value for money.
Disliked: It's the only elevator wall without a mirror. Ladies like to admire themselves in the elevator. It's not an issue, but it would be nice to have one last look and adjust oneself before stepping out. Or maybe take a picture

It’s not all business in...

Liked: The hotel had all the facilities you would expect from a hotel of this star rating. It’s a competent business hotel with a great view over the Thames to the millennium dome. The reception staff and F&B staff were able to deal swiftly and efficiently with any queries or problems. Of particular note were Meghana and Manisha who sparkled at the early morning breakfast service.
Disliked: The hotel is on the outskirts of the restaurants and offices of Canary Wharf so there’s a 10 minute walk to the many and varied bars and eateries. On the plus side it is closer to Poplar, so if you fancy breaking away and sampling some independent restaurants (Chinese very good) and interesting local pubs (Tommy Flowers) it’s well placed for that as well.
