Great place and superb location

Liked: Location, Room very nice, fridge and tea coffee making facilities. Bar area. Helpful, friendly staff.
Disliked: Room quite hot making hard to sleep.Changing towels that were hung up, clean and still in use. Only 1 bedside lamp in twin room. Breakfast very tasty but no porridge or cereals available except one granola dish that was tasty but no buffet or porridge option.

A cozy, comfortable home away...

Liked: The room was very large by European standards, with a very comfortable bed and good amenities. I didn't realize when I booked that the breakfast was included, and I'm so glad it was. The food was delicious! We ate breakfast every day and dinner a few times. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. This stay was actually the second of two bookings, before and after a tour to the Isle of Skye. They stored our large suitcase while we were gone with no problems. We stayed in two different rooms, and both were very comfortable and clean. The location in New Town was far enough from the bustle to be quiet, but close enough to walk everywhere. We highly recommend this property.
Disliked: I can't think of a thing.

Atmosphere and staff are lovely,...

Liked: I have stayed at Rabble once before and I am a fan. It feels warm and welcoming and has a lovely Mediterranean vibe. The staff are really nice and they try to be as accommodating as possible from check in to check out. They are happy to top up teabags and milk and generally, you get a good breakfast. The beds are comfy. They've thought of toiletries, hairdryer etc and the fridge is a bonus too. I also like that you can pay extra to use the hotel pool down the road. It is in a good area and I feel happy going back and forth on my own there as it has a good selection of shops and restaurants nearby. They are also willing to store your bags for you if your room is not ready.
Disliked: On this occasion we were in Room 8 at the very top of the building. My husband has a bad knee and it is a lot of stairs with no lift.We had a fire alarm about 6.45 am. It was loud and working, good. Luckily we were awake but I was out first as I was dressed to go swimming.I dashed downstairs to see if it was a drill to save him the extra walk. By the time I got down and found someone, he had exited via another fire escape to the back side of the building. When I did not see him at the front, I worried. Assured it was a false alarm, I went back in and up. In the chaos I forgot my key and worried, asked the staff member checking the rooms to let me in.There were no badges to mark out staff. There was no roll call or awareness of which guests were where. All they knew was a chap with a sore knee was maybe still in his room. I could have been anyone asking to get into our room to as the staff member had never seen me or I him.If this had been a real fire, it would have been awfully disorganised.A male staff member told me 'It's probably someone smoking', yet my partner said the chap beside him at the back side said it was 'a fault'.So, it could have been better handled. There were also paintings along the floors of the corridor slightly impeding exit, especially for the poor bloke on crutches, who I stopped midway to let him know it was a false alarm. (A workman was putting them up with a drill by lunchtime.)The usual female staff member was on later and comped us late check out for our trouble and I'm sure will sort a fire action plan for the future as she was disappointed to hear what had happened and I think would have handled it better. This time we also found the bundle of cables was too much for the little side table in the room and it if you tried to charge your phone they fell down.I do hope Rabble sort these things as I like it and would be willing to stay again assured the fire procedure was on point.

I would recommend this hotel.

Liked: Location was great to get to sightseeing places. Staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Nice to have good food on location.
Disliked: Our first night stay was on a weekend and it was warm out so had windows open and it was very noisy from partiers and also dumping of glass into dumpsters. When we stayed again during the week there was no problem with noise.

Excellent location with a great...

Liked: Mateo the manager went above and beyond to make sure that we got checked in and were able to eat dinner at the restaurant after I dropped the ball on making a reservation. The rooms were clean and minibar was well stocked if we had been hungry or thirsty; I also appreciated the espresso machines the next morning. I cannot overemphasize how nice it was to be able to drink at a cocktail bar that was creative and then only have to walk upstairs to fall asleep, especially since the weather was blustery the night we stayed there.
Disliked: This is to be expected in a larger city, but the alleyway that our room faced was decently loud early in the morning. Do not expect a conventional reception desk; we got taken back to the other side of the restaurant to check in. You do also walk directly through the restaurant to get to the door leading to your rooms, which is next to the restaurant's kitchen.
