Queen City Inn

The rooms are older and show their age but you have to understand that you get what you pay for. I got a fantastic price on the room so I wasn't expecting the Hyatt Regency. It was clean and everything worked. Even though it was a non-smoking room, when we first went in you could still smell cigarette smoke. I probably won't stay there again and will foot the extra coin for a newer establishment. But if your looking for a basic room (although showing its age) at a cheap rate, then I'd recommend the Travelodge in Bangor ME.

Good value for what they...

Liked: The breakfast was good considering the price of this lodging. They had hot waffles, cold boiled eggs, muffins, bagels and bread you could toast and packs of cereals you could make with hot water along with yohgurt butter and milk in the little fridge. The bed was very comfortable and clean. as old as the fixtures in the bathroom were they still have kept them very clean. I asked for an hour extention of check out time due to when I needed to be at my next venue and they graciously let me do that. The staff was friendly and helpful! We had a quiet good night sleep once the folks outside quit running their truck.
Disliked: There was a bit of an old smell in the room. The extra security chain was broken so we stacked things in front of the door for extra safety. Some one left something unwelcome on my car window overnight that I reported to Motel staff. They reported it to management. The people next to us were in and out of their truck starting it and just sitting in it several times which was loud.They ran out of waffle batter and boiled eggs, although we came in to breakfast a full hour before breakfast hour was noted to close.I would have liked either a non slip mat or a safety bar in the shower.
