Quality Inn & Suites Clackamas - Portland

Disliked: The outside grounds were not kept up - weeds and cigarette butts; needed cleaning around edges.

We stayed at Days Inn Portland South on March 15th and attended the Big Daddy Weave concert. Excellent experience.

Liked: Pleasant staff; clean room; so enjoyable.

Liked: The breakfast was good, alot of variety so something for everyone and a tv in the dining area so you could listen to news or morning show. Cool to see they had a gym and a place to wash your clothes. Nice to have a pool. Rooms were clean. Seating in a common area was nice when we were visiting with family downstairs. Plug in air fresheners in hallways was nice. Plenty of ice available and soda machine had good options. TV in room was good, nice options of what to watch. I liked having the armoire to hang clothes in. Nice to have fridge blend in. Met our expectations for cost. Little extras were nice too like iron/board, shampoo, lotion sort of things. Coffee pot in room, though we don't drink it, we were able to heat the water in our room to have tea. (which was also available in dining area even when not breakfast time) Comfortable beds/pillows/sheets!
Disliked: Doors are heavy, not for the weak or elderly to try to open alone. Floor when you first walk in is kind of wonky, slanted, just feels a bit awkward. We had one very nice desk person, communicated well with us, commented on how we looked, (we were dressed up) but another was not so much. She didn't smile, she didn't follow our request on how we wanted to pay so put wrench in our needs as she would not correct the error. Didn't seem concerned about our customer satisfaction, even when we told them up front what we wanted to do. We had a non smoking room but occasionally we would smell smoke in the bathroom, like it came through vents. Not strong but noticeable if you are sensitive to smoke. Bathroom could use a bit more of a fan/ventilation for after showers, but wasn't bad. Parts of main hotel like elevator, carpets seems like they could be updated but that does not mean they weren't good.

You get what you pay...

Liked: Location was fair for the restaurants nearby, but the people living in their cars on the side streets made us nervous.
Disliked: Room smelled terrible and the top floor was hot all the time.
