We were awakened by a call from the desk telling us there had been a noise complaint and to please stop making noise. We were asleep! Wth?!?
Liked: Bed was comfortable.
Disliked: Building smelled awful; basically dirty; breakfast was almost nonexistent - no bread, pastry or protein at all. Waffle batter was watered down. Cold cereal and yogurt. That's it. No eggs, no meat.

Dirty. So disgustingly dirty. Stains on the walls. Wasn't informed about having to pay for parking. Outrageously overpriced. So disappointed. Never staying again.

The bed was quite comfortable. The shower was nice. The room had a microwave and large refrigerator and cable TV. The best part was the breakfast buffet. I couldn't believe they had hot eggs and very good sausage links, waffles, and the usual cold cereals and breads and yogurt. Coffee could be taken out for the drive home. And it was so very close to the MODA Center to walk to and fro.

Unfortunately, the day we checked in (01/21/12), ownership transferred and La Quinta became "Quality Inn." Apparently, the former owners left the hotel in a shambles. Nothing much worked. Reservation was wrong; showers were just above lukewarm in all rooms; rooms and hallways very cold; wires of every kind hanging out of the walls and cracks in rooms. However, the new owners were really trying on their first weekend and I'll bet that in six months this will be a good place to stay again. It's a great location for events and has free parking. It would have been nice if the new owners had given guests coupons or discounts because of the conditions and then I think they would have more return customers. We intend to make this Portland weekend an annual event for our 7-person party, but don't know where we'll stay at this point. I truly wish the new owners luck. They have a lot of work to do, but seemed willing and eager to tackle their challenges.
Liked: New owners seem to be trying; good location for < a href="/venue-hotels/rose-garden-arena-hotels/302118">Rose Garden events; pool open 24 hours; complimentary breakfast; staff very friendly and accommodating.
Disliked: Cold showers, smoke detector hanging by wires, dirty carpets

We thought our hotel room was excellent. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable, breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. Thank you - we'll stay here again!
