Hotel SonoHotel By Monreale IDrive

The Inn was great. It was close to everything! All we had to do was walk across the street and we were entertained for the rest of the trip!

Liked: The Inn was very clean and the service was very friendly!

Good location, but very basic...

Liked: Best thing about the hotel is it's location on International Drive, just a few minutes walk from Icon Park and plenty of shops and places to eat to choose from.The free shuttles to/from Universal were very useful.The pool area is very pleasant.There is a laundry room that came in handy during our stay.In our room (333) the bed was comfy, the bathroom was enormous, and the shower had decent water pressure & temperature control.Complimentary tea/coffee facilities at reception.
Disliked: Main concern was that in our 8day stay the room was not serviced even once.The room and the hotel property in general feels very tired and dated.Our room had an unpleasant, dank and musty smell when we first checked in. Staff said they would check the a/c unit and have the carpet steamed, after which the smell did improve slightly. There are lots of renovation works going on throughout the whole hotel property.The shuttle services to Disney are less useful if you want to make the most and get a full day visit to the parks - we booked to visit Disney Magic Kingdom, which opens for access at 8AM (1hr before official opening of rides etc at 9AM) however the hotel's shuttle doesn't leave until 9:30AM, meaning you wouldn't get to the park until at least 10AM or 10:30AM. Recommend taking a taxi/Uber instead!

Cheap but not cheerful.

Liked: The pool area was the only positive really. Heated and plenary of loungers. Due an update as some damage to the stone are d pool and walk areas.
Disliked: Room - smelly damp and stale smell. Was clean appliances old fridge covered in rust carpet stained Building works going on in the rooms adjacent to ours was noisy with the drilling and banging and loads of builder dust cement etc on landing and in lift.We only stayed one night before our flight and glad it was only one night!

Liked: Location is really the only thing this hotel had going for it. A/C unit worked great.
Disliked: Upon entering the room, it had an "earthy" odor to it. Looking around I noticed the ceiling had been re-textured and appeared to be painted partially, which now the texture was falling onto the floor. The vanity area, the lower portion of the vanity was swollen from water damage. There was water puddling on the floor, it seemed to be seeping from the room to the Right. The "closet" was full of growth and had a malodor. The bathroom area was extremely water damaged, steaming from the room above. The wall was soft if not even missing at this point. To "repair" the water damage it appeared it was just painted over. The carpet was riddled with stains and debris from the ceiling texture. The day of check out, housekeeping was literally standing at our door waiting for us to leave. Check out was at 11AM and they were there at 10AM.
