Love the location and the...
Liked: The staff were incredible. I felt respected, and they graciously looked after some additional and unexpected needs without making me feel like I was a difficult guest. Fedi at reception assisted me to locate a more suitable room for my 2 night stay with my sister. Brendan provided assistance with moving my luggage to the new room. Both staff members were approachable, friendly, helpful, kind, and extremely efficient.On the second night of our stay, I asked if I could have some heavy blankets to help me sleep. Brendan delivered them to the pool area so that he didn't wake me sister. When one of the cleaning staff saw me waiting at the elevator with lots of luggage, she helped me use the staff lift so I didn't have to wait for a very long time.These caring personal extra touches made our stay so much better.
Disliked: Work being done on the elevator was a minor inconvenience with up to a 10 min wait to get downstairs. My suggestion would be to make sure the stairs are clean and respectable during times when work is being done on the lifts.

Still good, but could do...
Liked: We have been staying at this hotel for years, probably 100+ times from back when it was the Marriott. The rooms are a great size and the location is what initially drew us to the hotel.
Disliked: A few things got under my skin this time:- the windows are absolutely filthy and have been for a couple of years. When the sun is shining onto the windows, the view of the park just becomes impossible to see through the grime.- we stayed in a room on the a high floor. These rooms have been refurbished, but they were a lot better before the changes. No drawers, not much space to put anything off the floor apart from the desk, but mostly the bathroom redesign is terrible. The corner bath has been replaced by a shower with a smaller bath adjacent to it, but the biggest loss is the full length bench, now replaced by a tiny bench with a small sink and a tap which sprays everywhere.- the room was freezing. The staff were helpful in trying to fix it, but to no avail. They did however provide us with a standalone heater which did the trick.- the elevators are still being refurbished. This has been going on for months, no idea why, it's a small job. In the morning it took 25 minutes to get into an elevator and people were checking out and full elevators kept passing us by. One family we saw who were concerned about missing their flight carried all their luggage down 13 flights of stairs using the fire stairs.

Liked: The property was a bit rundown, beautiful staff nothing was a problem.Excellent location close to museums, St Mary’s Cathedral easy walk to darling harbour.
Disliked: 3 elevators only 1 going most days a little inconvenient but first world problems. Would have loved maybe a toaster in the room so you didn’t have to go every day and buy breakfast. Other then that was a great stay
