Liked: The hotel is ideally situated in city centre for walking around. The staff are hardworking, very friendly & accommodating. Our room was clean and very spacious, although they need to polish the glasses. Bed was lovely & not hard. The design of the hotel gives a nice ambiance. Are you a smoker? Good news for you: As for an ashtray at the bar and go out to the front of the hotel where you can sit at the barrel tables.
Disliked: Mineral pools are VERY close by from the hotel...just wish they had their own heated pools, but there is only so much room. Buffet breakfast: bacon was hard, fried eggs just sat under the heated lamp in a pile. Though a decent range to choose from, I think next time we will walk around the block to 'Eat Street' to find a cafe that does fresh, less expensive options.Although the valet parking is worth it & knew the price before paying two nights...they have to pay the lease for the parking ground perhaps...are they taking advantage as it is expensive compared to even Auckland prices?
