Great location, nice lodge
Liked: Nice lodge in a lovely location. The woods behind the lodge are great for nice walks.
Disliked: Only thing i noticed was the amount of dust on the tops of the curtains. A quick hoover would sort that out.

Cosy, rustic log cabin in...
Liked: Arrived late and was greeted by a warm and cosy cabin in the woods. The light in the lounge was left on and there was the feint smell of a cedar log cabin from a plug in air freshener which made us feel warmed and welcomed. The bed in the master was dressed beautifully and the whole cabin had a feeling of cosy rustic charm. We enjoyed our stay and will probably be back.
Disliked: Went to run a bath but gave up after half an hour as the tap was dribbling and the water wasn?t hot enough. Shower was good but overall the bathroom could do with updating or tidying up a bit. The rest of the cabin was nice enough although I personally find leather sofas uncomfortable and not cosy at all so felt he owners had selected ease of cleaning over comfort here. Another place this happened was with the rug in the lounge which was a dangerous trip hazard - placed to keep the carpet clean but was dangerous and looked scruffy. I felt the disclaimer in the handbook that the rug was a trip hazard wasn?t really good enough - a better solution should be found to avoid accidents. There were no laundry facilities on site which was a disappointment. The kitchen had a dishwasher, large fridge freezer, a microwave, toaster and kettle along with a couple of cups, plates and glasses, knives and forks, sharp knives and some utensils, pots and a pan so had all the basics. Would have been great to have a few additional things like tin foil, cling film, oil, salt and pepper which we had in the previous place we had stayed and made the stay that bit more enjoyable and convenient. There was a small basket of snacks with some very old looking ready salted crisps and a couple of chocolate bars which looked so tired - Indeed a few more thoughtful additions and/or attention to detail would have elevated the stay. Was woken at 8am by someone mowing the lawn which I felt was not acceptable on a holiday letting site. It?s a good sized site so would have taken a few hours to mow all the grass but it can be done at any time of day or even just a couple of hours later at 10am! Same thing both morning we stayed here which spoiled the romance.Couple of the lights weren?t working and I felt more care could have been taken choosing the lighting for the cabin as it has such a huge impact on feel of a place. The directions to the pucks glen walk were incorrect in the handbook.

Liked: We loved the ebikes you hire through the owners. We were away for hours even in the rain. The lodge was lovely and cosy - would highly recommend.
