Guests love the friendly staff, great location, and the unique vibe of staying above a classic London pub. Many highlight the cleanliness of the rooms and the ability to meet other travelers in the relaxed bar setting. The value for money is frequently praised, especially for central London.

Areas for Improvement

This isn't a five-star hotel, and that’s part of its charm. Some guests note that the rooms are basic and compact, and the stairs might be a challenge for those with heavy luggage. But if you’re here for the music and the city, you’ll likely be spending more time out than in.

Great location. Bad rooms, very...

Liked: The staff were friendly and accomodating. The pub was nice! The location was great as well. Easy location to walk around. The staff were helpful and did a great job.
Disliked: It felt dirty and very run down. Though the bathroom got cleaned they smelt very bad and gross. The room was mostly clean but not very comfortable the room was not air conditioned, though it did have a fan. Definitely in need of a renovation and the pictures are somewhat misleading. Not as modern as it looks! Squeaky beds, not stable and noisy when moving about.

Disappointing

Liked: It did the job, cheap place to stay in London. Location was good - walking distance to multiple tube stations!
Disliked: Rooms were very cramped, bathrooms and showers did not feel clean at all, and there is not much of a common area for guest other than the bar. The rooms were stuffy and the fan did not work. Although not the hostel's fault, some of the guest were quite disruptive and loud. (FYI, would not stay here if you are a solo female traveller unless you get an all girls room)

Lovely staff. Would stay again....

Liked: Clean room, mattress was too thin. Staff very helpful but pub drinks prices could be a little cheaper, considering it's a backpackers venue.
Disliked: See above

Staff were lovely, you don't...

Liked: Was checking in late and the night staff were lovely, made sure I had what I needed for my stay. Had breakfast in the morning and met more lovely people at the bar. Room was clean, a bit noisy but if you're booking a bed in central London in the summer, don't expect it to be quiet.

Liked: Reasonable and in a good location. Comfy mattresses.
Disliked: Not many showers and toilets and they weren’t the cleanest but not terrible.

Good

Liked: Comfortable beds. Good price and location.
Disliked: Too small to put that number of people per room. Bunk beds could have a little more space for personal gadgets.
