Liked: The Crown Pub Hostel is real Publove! Simple, affordable, and very well located, with public transport, food, cafés, and markets all nearby. The staff is lovely and very helpful. Surprisingly, there’s no noise from the pub itself, which makes for a pleasant stay.
Disliked: That said, the rooms are very old and not particularly clean, even though a kind lady does her best to tidy up. Unfortunately, it’s not enough. The showers and toilets are often out of order, and the ones available are always dirty and too few. Extra-small sinks are not practical, no hooks for clothes in the shower, no shelf — basically nothing. There’s no proper ventilation in the rooms, only loud mobile fans set up by the hostel.If you come without (high) expectations, you can still enjoy your stay. Cheers!

Decent hostel stay with some...

Liked: The hostel had a good overall vibe, and the bedrooms were comfortable. I appreciated the layout and space, and it made for a pleasant stay despite the summer heat. With a few improvements, especially in communal areas, this place has great potential.
Disliked: The heat in the rooms made it tough to sleep, especially with no proper cooling. The communal bathrooms and showers were often unclean and not checked regularly. Some amenities were also out of order, which made the stay less enjoyable.

Liked: I had a decent experience staying here. The bedrooms were in good shape, and the location worked well. It was hot during the summer, but with some added fans and a bit more attention to shared facilities, this could easily be a top pick.
Disliked: There’s definitely room for improvement. The bedrooms were fine, but extremely hot in summer. The biggest issue was the state of the shared bathrooms, which were frequently dirty and not well maintained, with broken amenities more than once.

Liked: The bedrooms were comfortable and well maintained, which made for a decent stay. Nice pub downstairs with great selection of food, drinks and comfortable seating.
Disliked: More fans are definitely needed during the summer months as it was extremely hot at times. The biggest issue was the communal bathrooms and showers, they were often left dirty and some amenities weren’t working on multiple occasions. Regular maintenance and cleaning would greatly improve the overall experience.
