Over all decent but needs...

Liked: Breakfast was 6 out 10 very spacious hotel
Disliked: Breakfast should be better,bar area needs attention should have had more beers on draught not much choice

Stayed a few time prior...

Liked: The hotel is beautiful and a well established part of the historical York. The garden room is a lovely grand room and lovely to sit and relax in.
Disliked: The standard room we stayed in the beds are small for modern day standards. The mattress and pillows were uncomfortable and poor quality. The rooms are relatively small too.

Exceptional

Liked: The location is great for reaching the centre centre of York by foot.
Disliked: I love visiting York. I dont like the proposed development of the railway station. It will destroy the Victorian entrance & make it just like any other railway station without character.

Disliked: Bathroom flooded as shower drain didn't work, shower screen filthy, telephone in room didn't work so couldn't order room service or contact reception. Had to change rooms

Disliked: Be aware if you have food allergies despite advising staff on ordering my food still contained allergen then only part meal replaced causing allergic reaction. Hotel slow to respond
